Scouts Build a Fire

For scouts this week, we were finishing up our Outdoorsman badge, so we decided to take the boys up into the canyon, have them (with adult supervision, of course) start a fire, and enjoy some delicious campfire food. So we finally get up there, and get them set up, and finally, they get a fire going. After they all stood around,

Finally, the fire got going. We all cooked ourselves a hot dog, and after those, we made some delicious s ’mores. This is mine, a picture of perfection.

Then one of the boys decided to try and fit three burning marshmallows in his mouth at one time. It didn’t go that well.

But all in all, it was a fun activity, and luckily for all of us, no one got burned, or fell into the river, so I’ll consider it a super success.
