Old Man Darth

At Darth's school, they have a day where they have the kids dress up as old people (I think its to celebrate the schools birthday?) Last year, Darth refused to participate, but this year he was ready (I think he's just a shy guy who gets nervous doing anything outside of his comfort area). So they got him some great clothes and makeup, and he looked amazing.

Babysitting Time!

Today I babysat the fellas all day, and we had a great time. Near the beginning of the day, Epifanio got scared whilst holding a small radio, and then he was embarrassed and needed to take the time to collect his thoughts.

Later he perked up when we started to use him to stage Baby Yoda pics.

We tried to make it look like the force is being used to hold him up like this haha.
Then we had to pick up Darth from school, and Epifanio fell asleep on the way back. Luckily he stayed asleep when we got back, but in the most uncomfortable looking position.

Later, after watching a movie and having a snack, we decided to use my bed to do some tricks. It started out well, but then turned out bad.

So, yep, he bonked his head into the dresser and cut it open, just a smidge. Nothing he hasn't done before, and not even as bad as previous times. But then we stopped jumping on the bed, and just chilled and watched a movie until the parents came to get them. Not a bad day, but man, I was exhausted at the end!

Baby Yoda, Everyone's Favorite

Whilst I was in Vegas, Husband bought us a treat, something that we could do on our next date night. He unveiled it Friday, and then it took us a few days to work on it.

Now, whilst I have many many mini lego figurines, I have never put together actual legos before. Let me tell you, this situation was so so stressful! Making sure everything was together in the right order and the right everything was so stress, oh my goodness. It was like 2 days of straight stress. But then we finished! And I have never been more proud.

Look how adorable!

Just some Pics

Last night, I went to visit my sis-in-law after she had a knee surgery. We chilled for a bit, chatted, ate, etc. I held tiny baby Eve of course, she was ready for some snuggles.

Drama baby!

Then my SIL wanted to take a pic of us, just for memory's sake, I reckon.

Now if you look at my left wrist, you'll see that I have a brace on it. I forgot to mention this in my Vegas post! On Saturday morning in Vegas, I straight up tripped whilst running. Luckily, nobody was around me to see this embarrassing business, and I lived, so it's fine. I ended up going to a doc, and luckily the bones aren't broken, just some torn cartilage. Just gotta take it easy for the next little bit and be more careful in the future.

Meet Guillermo

A little bit ago, I bought myself a yeti at a wood store, to paint. And then of course, didn't have too much time to paint it, with other stuff I wanted to do. But finally today, I did it! And now, meet Guillermo.

Isn't he the best? I thought we were getting a white sticker face, but then it ended up being black. Which is fine, I was just expecting someone else. I've decided to just move him all over the house, sort of like an Elf on the Shelf.

Vegas Day 2

We originally had decided to just make today a chill day. Since it's a Sunday, we figured we could just play games, go on walks, etc. But then we decided to hit up the strip again, and catch the things we had missed. First, we went on a walk before breakfast, to get the blood flowing. We told Epifanio he had to walk instead of being carried, and he was devastated.

After breakfast, we headed to the strip. Our goal today was to see the Bellagio fountains. As we started to walk, we came across a guy playing drums. Gecko wanted to play, and luckily, the guy let him! I have a long long video of this, but this short one will suffice.

Then we kept walking around. At some point we figured we may as well take a pic, for the memories. One with masks of course, and one without.

Then we walked around a bit more, and finally, we got to see the fountains! Thank goodness, they were a good time.

That's a wrap on Vegas! We'll be heading out tomorrow, it was a fun, short trip, just what we needed.

Walking around Vegas

For our first official day in Vegas, we decided to just walk up and down the strip, looking at stuff, masked up, of course. First we went to the M&M store, the fellas had their minds blown by all the candy (even though we went just a couple of years ago!) Then next we went to the Coke store, and we did the Coke Around the World thing, where you try the cokes from everywhere. I filmed when they drank one called The Beverly - from Italy. We adults have tried this before, so we knew it tasted awful. The fellas didn't, so I had to record their reactions.

Then we just walked around in general. We stopped at the Hershey's store as well, to see what they had to offer (not much).

Then we stopped at the Shake Shack to eat lunch. We were all at one table outside, until we were informed that only 4 people could be at a table at a time. Which meant that I was at a table by myself (not forever, but just for this picture haha it made me laugh at the situation. Sure we were 5 people but we were all in the same family, so it just seems a dumb rule)

After more walking around, Gecko was sick of walking (he gets so tired so quickly, what a lazy guy). So we dropped off a few people, and then my sis, myself, and Darth went out and about again. We took a pic at some point because I realized that my sis and I were in the same themed clothes - Schitt's Creek - with both the shirt and the mask. I thought we looked a bit like Atti and his two mommies.

After our next set of adventures, we headed back to the house for dinner. We were pretty spent and ready to just hangout.

Vegas, Babeeeee!

Well, it's Martin Luther King Jr Day, which means its a 3 day weekend! BUT, I have this Friday off (In my job, I only work every other Friday), so technically, I have a 6 day weekend, hot dog! So we decided to make a long weekend of it and go to Vegas. Now, are we going to do anything that we wouldn't do here? Nope! But it'll be in a slightly warmer location, so I am hype. We found a good AirBnb for a good price, and planned our trip. Husband had to bow out at the last minute due to some school stuff, and he was missed. So after packing up our suitcases, we hit the road this afternoon. We made pretty good time! After a trip to the grocery store for some essentials, we settled in for the night, watching a movie to wind down. Epifanio was told he had to go to bed, and he, in typical fashion, was a drama king about it.

This just made me laugh so hard. That fake crying is perfect. Soon after, we all went to bed, nobody was willing to stay up past, oh, 9:00 or so. What can I say? We rock out hard.

Epifanio is a loon

I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but Epifanio is a bit of a drama king. He gets his feelings hurt often and when he needs to reboot and take a few minutes before he can keep going. Today at the store, he wanted to be held the whole time, and nobody wants that. So another thing he has recently started to do is fake cry when he doesn't get his way. It's equal parts infuriating and incredibly cute.

It's just so funny, it makes me laugh so hard. But I can't stay mad at him. With a face like this, who can?

Well...I think I'm funny

About a year ago now, I got a new calling as Relief Society Secretary. It's been a definite change from YW advisor, but I am not sure how it would be in real life, since we went into pandemic quarantine/social distancing pretty soon after I was called. So, needless to say, I send a ton of emails to everyone. I decided pretty early on to make these emails ridiculous. I start and end them with increasingly ridiculous intros and outros. I screenshot a few for my own enjoyment for posterity.

Nobody really comments on them, but I am having a great time with it. Hopefully I can keep this ridiculous train going.

Manicure, anyone?

I have spoken before of my love of Impress Nails. So many times I can make my nails look pretty in almost an instant. I realized today, I have a lot of nails leftover from previous times. So what's a person to do? Organize! I bought a bead organizer from Amazon:

Then I used my handy dandy label printer to label it by size (the sizes are done with numbers). And then I separated then all by their sizes.

I love this. Now, I can grab some random colors and do a random manicure! I look forward to that day, can't wait!

Hanging Out

Today was a chilling type of day. Nothing else really going on (I mean, it's still pandemic, so, I haven't gone anywhere really in almost a whole year!) so we decided to have a game night. First of all, Epifanio was the laziest kid we've ever seen.

Then we played games and ate food and just had a fun time in general. Appreciated a photo I was sent of myself haha.

Got loads of good stuff of this walnut.

He's just the sweetest boy as he gets older, I absolutely love it.

Cards cards and Cards

I made some cards yesterday for the card swap coming up this weekend. I followed the template for one, and then did my own freethinking for the other. I think they turned out pretty good. They're never as good as anyone else's in the group, but honestly, I'm okay with being the simple person of the gang haha.

A Snowy Walk

About a week and a half ago, I made plans with my cousin to go on a walk today. We try to see each other outdoors (Covid and all, and she's a hella big risk because of some health issues) and with it being so cold, that's hard to do. But we made plans to go on a walk on a Sunday morning. Unfortunately for today, as I was driving over to our spot, it started snowing.

Oops.

But we made the best of it.

We saw lots of cute animals and tons of cute animal prints.

(you can barely see, but there are like, 4 deer in this photo)

Cute! And then at the end of the walk, I realized how ridiculous I looked.

Hey, buns are perfect for catching snow apparently. But luckily we were never really cold, and we weren't even too wet. Thank goodness, because seeing each other is just what the doctor ordered!

New Year, New Me

Hey hey hey y'all, we have made it to a new year! 2020 is over, see ya later.

I said we would revisit this, so let's. Now, was it the worst year? Possibly. But did it still have some great times? Yes absolutely.

I got to go on a cruise before everything fell apart.

I cleaned and organized the ever living heck out of the house whilst we had quarantine.

I got to welcome my fav SIL back from her mission.

I got to meet a hedgehog.

I got new nieces and nephews!

I traveled across the country to Tennessee!

Coached a tiny soccer team for the second time in my life.

Traveled to Wyoming to try the new Man Dew!

Enjoyed all of my family time, the precious times we had.

And I got a job! I work with the city now, how grand.

But now, let's look at last years goals.
Run every day
Read 20 books
Good decisions regarding sugar.

Okay! So yes, I did run every day. My mileage last year was 1665.5. I now have run 2,024 days in a row.
Wow.

Books! I read 60 books last year! HOLY COW!

Sugar. Okay, in my defense, we had a quarantine for many months. Of course I ate a lot of sugar.

So now, my goals are:
Run every day (duh)
Read 50 books. (now that I have a job and it's not quarantine, it'll be slightly more difficult)
Make better choices. I'm not saying, no sugar, or something. I just need to consciously make better choices about food in general.
Here's to 2021!
