Making Treats

Tomorrow, as we all know, is the Super Bowl. Patriots vs Seahawks. Naturally, being football, I don’t have a team, necessarily, but since most of my family and friends seem to be from Seattle or married to someone from there, we lean towards the Seahawks. I made the treats tonight for the Super Bowl party we’ll be having tomorrow, and I tried to show my team spirit.

GreenBrownies

These are just my usual Chocolate Treasures, with a lime green frosting that was hard to perfect. And lately, I’ve been obsessed with making homemade Oreos, so I whipped another batch of those.

Oreos

And I also added homemade Snickers, but alas, I forgot to take a picture of them! Happy football!

Weekly Darth

We had some prize pictures sent this week, enjoy as I have!

Cartbaby

He got an apparatus to be able to sit in a cart, since he’s still too small. Look at the wonder in his face!

Strollerbaby

Sometimes, for no reason at all, he makes the weirdest faces. Like, what is his face doing here? I don’t even know, but I love it so much.

Blackeye

Sad news. everyone, baby got his first black eye this week. He fell out of his swing, directly onto his face. He’s improving, so don’t stress too much, guys.

I have finally found it

You guys, epic news.

I have finally found a nail place that I really like. I know, it’s only my first visit there, and I should pace myself, and wait to see how it is two times in a row, but I had such a good experience today that I just want to sing it from the rooftops. I got a pedicure on a whim, and tried this place after googling pedicures in the area, and looking at reviews, to find a good place, since I haven’t had a good experience in the places I usually go. So, I went, and this is the end result:

Toes15

I am so happy with the nails, and it was such a good time. I’ll try again, naturally, and make sure that they’re still really good, but otherwise, I think I may finally have a place to call my own!

Be Mine!

We had craft club tonight, finally getting around to doing a Valentine/February craft, since we’ve been lacking one. After the final decision was made, we got together for decorating, pizza, and fun. It took a few hours to complete, but in addition to doing the adorable craft, I got some cooking recipes off of a cooking show we happened to be watching at the same time. Can’t wait to try them! But now, the thing you’ve all been waiting for:

bemine

Ta-daaaa! Lovely, eh?

Miscellaneous Monday

I’m back into the groove of things! I can finally do a miscellaneous Monday, things are almost back to normal, time-wise. I got out of the groove of things over the holiday. Between the busy-ness of life, and yet, having no school, I forgot to stay on top of blogs, but now, I’m back in the game, and I can finally get into the swing of it.

I am healthy! It took all the way until Saturday, but I can finally eat food. Between Tuesday morning, and Friday night, the most food I ate was a roll on one day, and a few bites of soup another day. I literally ate nothing, I only drank Gatorade/Powerade and water. I made it through a half a bowl of soup Friday night, and since then, I have finally improved, and can eat regular food, I am so happy, and I no longer feel like dying.

I made a really tasty treat today. I have made this sweet Chex mix for years, usually only on New Years Eve, but I felt like making it today. You just combine 8 cups of Rice Chex cereal, 8 cups of Corn Chex cereal, 2 cups of shredded coconut, 2 cups of slivered almonds, and toss. Then, in a saucepan on heat, melt 3/4 cup butter, add 1 cup granulated sugar, and 1 cup Karo corn syrup. Boil for 2 minutes, and then combine with cereal mixture. Let cool! Usually, it’s crazy delicious, but as I was making it today, I realized, I didn’t have enough cereals, I was short by like, 4-5 cups. So, I substituted in Golden Grahams, and let me tell you, it was delicious! I’m going to do it this way from now on!

The Flu has Arrived

It has come. It’s come for me. It’s here for me.

The flu.

I got it this morning. Well, technically, last night. As I was going to bed, I had a stomachache, but I chalked it up to having eaten a million potato wedges that we made. But then I woke up in the middle of the night, and drove the porcelain bus for a good long while and then, I was done for.

I unfortunately had to still go about my day, but when I got home, I laid down on the couch, and I haven’t moved here since about 11:30, with the exceptions of bathroom trips.

I hope I get over this soon, because today feels like it may be my last on earth, I feel so awful.

Everyone, avoid this. I hope you don’t catch this at all.

I am unstoppable!

Ok, the title of this might be misleading, but I don’t even care. A night or so ago, I got an email from UVU that said the following:

IMG_9982

I was so pumped! I really did work really hard last semester, and when you factor in the facts that I have been out of school for over 13 years, I really am just so happy to have done this well. It’s my goal to keep riding this GPA wave, and get a great one this semester as well!

Foto Friday

This past week, my sister sent me a pic of her dog, ready for the cold weather.

So naturally, I followed suit by dressing up Cookie.

I believe they’re both unhappy, which makes the pictures funnier.

Swapping Cards

I have card swap this weekend, and of course, left my cards to the last minute. I should have done it during the break, but alas, I just decided to go ahead and wait until this week to make them. I think they turned out pretty cute, I had to do a boy baby card and a sympathy card.

IMG_9935IMG_9960

The sympathy card isn’t as sympathetic as it probably could be, but I think it’s pretty good anyways!

Happy 2015

Happy new year, guys! I thought I would kick off the year with talking about my last year resolutions, and then see what I want to accomplish this new year. So here were last years:

1. I think this year, I’m going to jump the book number up to 30.

2. I’m going to do at least 230 blog posts.

3. A goal of mine is to get Husband on a vacation this year.

4. I want to increase my speed this year.

And here’s how I did!

1 – I read 31! Ha! ha ha ha! I did it! I did it!

2 – I did 296 holy cow. Let’s explain straight away that the only reason I got that many was because of the 100 days of happiness, and had to do 100 in a row. That’s literally the only reason.

3 – This was a success! We went to Oklahoma with his family, we went to Disneyland with his family, and we went on an amazing cruise and to Universal Studios in Florida! It was a good year, vacation-wise, which is good, because I don’t think we’ll be taking one this year.

4 – I honestly don’t know if I did this or not. My times were pretty comparable to last year, but the last few races of the year were super quick because I ran them by myself, so comparing them to when I ran with PJ is a different ball field.

So there it is, my accomplishments. And honestly, I don’t really have any goals for this year. I mean, I would like to continue to read as much as I have been, and my running goal is to run at least 3 miles per day (collectively over the year) because in 2014, I ran 709.9 miles over the course of the year, and I’d like to make that a little more. So we’ll see if those come true! And in any case, good luck with any goals you set!
