We Did It!

Y'all, we did it! Every day blogged! They didn't even all suck! Good work all of us! Let's celebrate by looking at my newly decorated Christmas Tree.

Time to celebrate Christmas!

Whoops

Yesterday whilst I was showering, I broke my razor in half. (I don't know how I manage to do this, but this is certainly not the first time) I got a new one yesterday and then decided that with a new razor, I would shave my legs today and everything! Fancy me, eh? So I started, and then about 10 seconds in, had a horrifying accident. As I unwound my skin from the razor blades, I realized how much of an accident it had been. I had to do that three times and I was bleeding pretty heavily. I even wrote a song that I sang in the shower during this. "The amount of blood in here is troubling" is the name, and, at present, the only lyric.

So I hopped out of the shower finally, and Husband was on hand to snap a pic.

YIKES. So he had to help me clean it off and bandage it, since it's in a bad place for me to reach. Here it is with the blood cleaned off!

YIKES AGAIN it doesn't even look good at all! My poor leg! No skin left!

So, now we just wait and give it time for the leg to heal and hope I will be more careful in the future.

More Thanksgiving Shenanigans

I finally got a hold of more Thanksgiving Day photos. Epifanio was playing with a Nerf gun, and having a great time. He was trying to hand it to me (I'm pretty sure) but when he had this stance, we couldn't resist making it look like something else.

He's too cute!

The Midas Touch

Today, we went up to my aunt's house, to bring her some food and stuff (since she had to miss our Thanksgiving, since she's a teacher and we have some high risk over here). Darth came inside to get me, and I howled when I saw his outfit.

He is attempting to be a guy, Midas, from Fortnite. You can't really tell in the pic, but he has a scar that goes from forehead to nearly his mouth (made from highlighter and an eyebrow pencil). The tie he loves. He is now working on getting a suit vest, since Midas wears one in the game. I will add a pic of him wearing that when it happens!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! Today was a fun day. We kept it small of course, for Covid. We made sure to celebrate today, since we can't celebrate Christmas this year. We had a yummy meal and some games and just good times in general.

Too much ranch, buddy.
Just happy to be here.
Epifanio will not look at the camera, no matter what.

This is when I told him to smile.

Basically, he's just using the cracker to get ranch into his mouth.

Hope everyone had a safe and great Thanksgiving!

TikTok on the Clock

I'm no youth, but sometimes I enjoy TikTok. I really enjoy the wholesome videos that make their way into my brain. This one is one I recently saw and I am obsessed with it.

Guys, I love it. So good, enjoy.

Smily Late Night Baby

Sometimes, Epifanio seems to be the most happy when he's supposed to be going to bed. He gets a second wind and is just so cute and friendly. (I only know this from afar haha) I got these pics tonight and they are too dang cute.

Definitely a little charmer.

An Imminent Attack

Today I headed over to my folk's home to pick up a turkey. As we were visiting (masks on, don't worry everyone) the bird came out. You know the one. The tiny velociraptor got on the floor and kept following me around the room! Of course I didn't trust!

I had to keep circling around the room to avoid the monster, I barely escaped with my life.

Photobomber

Recently, my SIL got engaged. I helped to take their photos for the announcements and whatnot. Don't worry - not the actually photographing, I was in charge of helping with poses, since that's something I can actually do haha. I helped them in various positions, and then when we got this one, I couldn't help but jump in the background myself.

What a great time I had doing this!

A Thief!

Cookie is too small to jump on our bed anymore. She has to be helped up, so she doesn't get on our bed too often, just when someone takes pity on her. Tonight was just one such night. I put her on the bed, then went and brushed my teeth and got ready for bed. I came back and she had definitely taken over my spot.

What an absolute thief! It was so cute, I couldn't be mad at her, of course, she is just enjoying the soft and cozy bed as we do. Of course I let her stay, I just snuggled in next to her.

Happy Birthday, Mama!

Y'all, it's my mama's birthday today! Stupid Covid means that we can't celebrate it this week together, but when we're all allowed to see each other again, you can bet your bottom dollar we are going to have an excellent celebration and spoil her.

Happy Birthday, mama!

Spicy Organizing

We noticed the other day that we have a bunch of spices that we bought in Turkey, but they are just in the small bags we bought them in, and they're hard to use because of that! So we decided to go ahead and put them into spice jars.

Now, are these regular spice jars? Nah. I had been striking out on finding any in stores, and then I stumbled across some salt and pepper shakers, and decided to give those a go. So I bought a whole bunch of them, and started on the project. It took a bit of time to get everything all put into the new jars. And then, since I wanted to keep air off of these, I cut wax paper into circles, and put them in the lids. And they looked great!

This is what the spices looked like before (I forgot to take a pic until after I had already done a bunch, whoops, but you get the idea)

And then here they are! I simply pulled the labels from the bags and put them on these new jars and I think they ended up looking really good! My hands were so spicy smelling by the time I had finished, it was so fun and satisfying to see all this organization.

We Love a Social Distance Visit

My sister in law is in town right now for an unexpected family event. She came with her smallest child, he is only 9 months old, I believe. Luckily today was good weather, because that meant we could visit outside with no issues. We were masked up, about 10 feet apart, and chatted for a bit. My nephew is much bigger than the last time I saw him (which was June), and looks so much different now! I snapped a pic from a distance.

Ahhhh cutie! So glad to be able to see them.

Freezer Time!

I went shopping today and met my sister there. Since nobody can be visiting each other's houses, but we're still allowed to go shopping, I have found this loophole. We can shop near each other and still keep all the rules. Nice. So we went today and when we got to the freezer section, I had Darth get a thing out of the freezer that I couldn't reach. Then when he had half of his body in there, I "helped" him get the other half in and then died laughing.

He is such a card haha we have so much fun.

Sunrise

I know this is a boring post, but trying to blog every day while still in quarantine and not seeing anybody is actually pretty difficult! So please enjoy the sunrise I snapped this morning when coming home from my run.

There are worse things to look at, I'm guessing.

Hand Masks

I have spoken before of doing face masks and feet masks, and today I experienced something new!

Hand masks! They work the same as any other mask...clean the hands, put in these masks, chill out for a bit. The nice thing about these is that you can actually still use phones and the like! It's much harder and typing is difficult, but hey, good to know for this type of thing.

Do my hands feel softer? Maybe? I can't really tell a difference, but maybe its something you have to do often to really feel the difference? I'll buy some more and we'll find out!

Merry Mash Time

Y'all, it's that time again. Mountain Dew Merry Mash is upon us again. With the recent aluminum shortage (yet another result of Covid) it's currently hard to find cans, so I have been buying bottles of stuff, which is just wild. I had read the other day that Merry Mash was in the neighborhood, so you can bet your bottom dollar I sprinted over to the store to find them.

And y'all, it was hecking delicious.

Cashew O'Clock

This baby here is obsessed with cashews. Loves all sorts of nuts, but cashews are his favorite.

In this particular photo, he's trying desperately to get some nuts up on the counter, and is trying to get someone to hand them to him.

Don't worry, he got them.

More with Scootch

I saw Cookie just sitting in the living room in a cute fashion, so I went to quickly grab my phone to get a pic. Of course, as soon as I had the camera, she turned to look at me and ruined the pic. Alas.

Still cute, of course.

Comfy Bed Time

Now that we've got the comfy clothes I talked about yesterday, I found some comfy bedding as well. I just stumbled upon this at the store, an decided it was perfect. So I picked it up, and some sheets to match, and put it on the bed yesterday.

Its a sherpa lined comforter and just about the softest thing I have ever touched. Last night was the first night we used it and y'all. It was the comfiest and warmest night of sleep I have had in a while, I didn't want to leave that bed this morning!

Comfy Clothes

Y'all, the weather has finally turned cold. I know we've flirted with the cold in the last month or so. We've had a few chilly days. But yesterday, it was snowing, it was cold, the time has come to roll out the comfy clothes I bought for Husband and myself.

The Taco Bell onesie. Finally, these warm devices will help us be warm. We went on a walk in the onesies, to see how they held up in the actual snow.

They did just fine! We were warm and toasty and just a little damp when we returned, but it dried quickly. Best purchase ever.

Mmmm Apple Cider

Y'all, we have finally experienced snow. This morning we have arrived into colder weather and snow and rain. Yay! So I went to breakfast at my cousins house, and she made me some delicious apple cider. She threw a star of anise in there, and it looked a bit like a spider when the cup was empty. But it added deliciousness to it.

So good!

Outlander 6K

Every race this year has been cancelled. It's disappointing, but it's better this way, of course. So I've been doing a lot of virtual races this year. I did one for Outlander (the good TV and even better book series) and today, my medal finally arrived!

Love it! I love virtual races, so many medals and without having to stand in a line to run!

Sunrise!

Now that we've had Daylight Savings, it's finally a little light in the morning when I go running. I got a sweet sunrise beginning this morning.

So lovely!

Christmas Movie Time is Here Again

I know I mentioned back a few weeks ago that Hallmark movies have started on the 24th of October. Well, here we are, and holy cow, there have already been so many! The issue is that every weekend, there are 4 movies that air. 2 on the Hallmark Channel (one Saturday, one Sunday) and 2 on the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries. So, yikes. And because my podcast covers all 4 movies during the week, you gotta watch them to listen to the podcast, so that you're not too far behind.

Then, Lifetime. Lifetime does 3 movies a weekend - Friday, Saturday, Sunday. So in addition to the Hallmark, gotta add in the Lifetime.

Then, of course, there are the new Netflix, and Hulu, and.... you get the picture. There are always so many dang Christmas movies to watch, and they're all basically the same movie. But do I love and hate them all anyway?

Of course.

Fancy Nails....in minutes!

Back in March, when the lockdown started, I knew that getting manicures would be a thing of the future. I know the lockdown didn't last FOREVER but I think we were in it for a good month and a half before I hung out and saw my family again. I am still not comfortable with getting my nails done (or hair...or going anywhere except for the grocery store, really) so I just resigned myself to not having nice nails.

Then, in August, I was introduced to press-on nails by Impress.

I know what you're thinking. "Press-on nails? Don't those fall off and look so tacky?" and the answer is, no!

So here are the nails that I applied back in August:

I love them! So, since them, I have become a convert. They claim to stay on for a week, but at 2 weeks they start to come off a little, and then I sort of help them come off, so that I can do the next pair. There are so many cute nails, and with a cost between $5.00 and $9.00 for a set, it's so much cheaper than going in for a manicure, you can afford to do as many as you want! I'm excited for Christmas coming up - they have so many holiday nails, I can't wait to wear them all!

Prepping Up

Y'all, we have had some warm warm weather. How absolutely insane that we have had high sixties-low seventies temperatures! So we took advantage of this warm weather, and put our outdoor furniture under covers this winter. Yeah, that's right, for the first time ever, we have covered our outdoor furniture and tried to actually keep it safe and clean this year! Then we stacked it all up in the corner of the deck.

I am so glad we finally did that, hopefully it'll make next summer much easier and cleaner!

Blogging Month Strikes Again

Well, it's November, which means it's National Blogging Month ... again.

So, let's play this game again. We'll do a blog every day. They'll mostly be boring, since Covid is making myself and my family stay home and not do anything.

But hey, we'll give it a go, and see where we end up.

May the odds be ever in my favor.
