Time with the Fellas

You know, I just really love spending time with the fellas. They're so fun and cute, they make my heart sing.

Darth and Epifanio love getting their pics taken, whereas Gecko is a little harder to nail down for a photo. They're all such cuties.

Succulents, babeeee!

Guys, I made some important decisions today, and bought some new plants for the house.

We have an area - by the mailbox - that doesn't get any water. So finally, I decided, let's put some succulents there! They don't need (much) water, so it'll be just fine.

They're so small you can barely seem them here, but I know they are there, and I can't wait to see if they grow.

Small Vieve

I recently found out that my elementary school is going to be torn down. Because of this, they did a farewell-type thing today. They opened the time capsule that we planted in 1990, and they had a memory thing, with all the yearbooks from every year (as far back as ... ah I don't know, I didn't check). So I headed over to Geneva with my sister, and we enjoyed taking these trips down memory lane. I'm going to do my best in remembering the years here, but I could be so wrong.

3rd grade?
6th - that I know for sure
I believe this is 4th
I know this is 2nd - so at least I got 50% right

It's sad to think my school is going to be gone, but at least I got to relive some memories for an evening.

A Graduate!

Y'all, we have ourselves a preschool graduate! Today, Gecko graduated with the highest of honors (that's a lie) and he was just as cute as can be.

Congrats buddy!

Small Small Cookie

Today, we got Cookie's remains back. Is it weird that I cremated my dog and then asked for the remains back? Probably, but I sure did it anyway. The box is lovely, and so tiny.

With this box, they gave us a story, and her little paw print. Of course this all made me cry.

I still miss her every day (I know, I know) and I keep looking around for her and wondering where she is when I can't hear or see her. I wonder when that will stop ... I know it just takes time!

Babysitting the Ladies

Tonight we were asked to babysit our nieces, so we took the opportunity to hang out with the tiny ladies. They were wearing an outfit that I had bought them, so hype to see them in these cute cute onesies.

Maggie isn't having any of the pics, as you can see her getting mad haha. They were being punks all night! They started fine, then one of them (usually held by Husband) would cry. He would switch me for my happy baby, and then once I would get her calmed down, the one he had taken from me would start to cry. We just kept this up all evening, sheesh! I was glad when it was our time to hand them back to the parents and let them deal with that haha. Right as they were getting home from their evening, we were changing their diapers. My SIL thought it was fun, and snapped some pics.

These little ladies are so dang cute! Can't wait for them to be real people soon. (you know...when they can walk and talk on their own)

Card Time

It's time for cards this weekend, and it snuck right up on me. I almost couldn't believe it when I looked at the calendar. So I took a look at the template, and copied it as best I could.

It was wild to leave a card with so much white on there, but I just had to leave it alone! And then my other card was utter garbage. It was supposed to be a flowers and fun card, but my attitude this week is mostly just depressed after Cookie, so I just did a card kit and called it good.

Eh sorry that it's sideways. Anyway. The card isn't the worst card ever, but it sure had no effort, so I know I gotta do better next month.

Farewell to my tiny love, Cookie

So, yesterday, on Saturday, we had a bad news call while in Vegas. Apparently, our tiny friend Cookie had a stroke-type thing (she had had one last week, but after we took her to the vet, they assured us she was okay) and wasn't doing well at all. My niece was taking care of Cookie, and she and my SIL took Cookie to the vet when this all happened. The vet told us that she wasn't doing well, and that it was probably time to put her down. We asked if we could hold off until we got home the next day, and he said yes. He gave her an IV drip of liquids (She was very dehydrated at this point) and some morphine to help with her pain. So we left early this morning and rushed home.

My SIL dropped her off as soon as we got home, and we took some time to snuggle her.

She couldn't walk, and could barely stand, so we wrapped her in a blanket to carry her around a little. We hung out with her a little bit and then we had to take her in. It was so incredibly hard to say goodbye to her. We have shared our lives with her for the past 8 years and I love her so. But she was suffering a lot, so it was her time, and she was about 15 years old, so she had a good long life. I will miss her so much, and she has taken a piece of my heart with her.

Vegas, Day 2

Today, we just did a mishmash of things in Vegas, just a few ideas. First, we went to the Flamingo Wildlife Exhibit. It was pretty fun. Most of the stuff was shut down for Covid, but we still got to see the flamingos.

Then we walked around a sugar store (HECK YES) and then went and rode the High Roller Ferris wheel. Did I snap any pics there? Oh of course not, I just enjoyed the view and everything haha.

Here's what a mock up of it looks like:

It was really nice, just a slow ride around. Husband did get a pic at the top, so that was nice.

We stopped at a patisserie in the Bellagio later to get some treats. They have chocolate fountains just all over the place, with some flowing chocolate (is it chocolate? Is it paint? I don't care)

It was a pretty good day. We had some news in the afternoon that wasn't great, but we'll talk about that later!

Fast Cars

All right all right, let's get this party started. Our major plan for the day was starting at 11:00, so we had some time to kill after we got up. It was already way warm, so we grabbed our suits and hit the pool. Epifanio had a great time, of course.

It was VERY COLD in the water. I don't know if they have the water colder, because it gets so hot, but Darth couldn't even handle the water at all. After he jumped in, he came out and immediately got under his towel in the sun. Because Epifanio copies everything he does, of course he did too.

Then, we hit the road. My gift to Husband was for him to drive some fast cars for the afternoon. He drove a Ford Shelby and a Ferrari. OOOOooooh. We snagged pics in front of the cars, of course.

We all hung out in a waiting room type area and got to go outside and watch him when he drove. That was a lot of fun, too, surprisingly.

Then he got to come hang with us between cars, and the fellas tried on his helmet.

Then they let the fellas get into the cars, which was a thrill for them.

It was so much fun!

That night, we went to our first restaurant in a YEAR. Y'all, that was wild. I almost couldn't believe it. We chose a TGI Fridays (and by chose I mean, that was literally the only thing open after a few other places we had tried near us had been a bust, so really, we just ended up there). My sister ordered a cotton candy cosmopolitan, of course I wanted to try it.

It ... tasted like alcohol so it was gross haha. Husband ordered a donut cheeseburger which was actually insane.

I tried that also and surprisingly, it works!

We had such a fun day, and it was a hoot every minute. Glad to be taking this little vacay.

Time for Vegas, Baby!

Y'all, it is time! I bought Husband a gift for our 10 year anniversary two months ago, and today we finally left to do it! It's in Vegas, so the drive is a little long (haha) and we decided to make a weekend of it. Epifanio is turning 2 this weekend, so we made it a whole shindig. We packed up the car, and met with everyone to hit the road. Epifanio was excited.

He just loves cars, he loves being in them, so it took a little to get him out of the car and into his car seat.

We drove to Fillmore and then stopped for some lunch in a Subway. That goober, sitting at a different table, turned around to get our drinks.

We made it safely to Vegas, and after getting into our rented condo for the weekend, we grabbed some dinner. We had wanted to hit up the pool in our complex, but then the owner didn't leave us the key fob for it. After some communication, they finally brought it over, just in time for it to be bedtime for the kiddos. At least we got it! And now we're ready to party.

Happy Cinco De Mayo

Tonight, heading home after work, there was a massive traffic jam. There was an accident on the street I take to get home and I had to go a different route, really out of my way, and then when I got to my road, there was a traffic jam that went the length of the entire street. I had to wait to get into my driveway, people just kept blocking it off. So after I got out of my car, I chatted with a neighbor about this insane traffic. She invited us over for tacos, they were making them for the neighborhood. Since my original idea of a Mexican restaurant was not a good idea now (we for sure couldn't get out of our driveway even) we decided to be party people and head on over. As we arrived, they made us put on some giant hats and take a pic.

They are incredibly silly but hey, I had a great time. Delicious tacos and finally seeing my neighbors after about a year - can't be beat!

More Epifanio

Y'all, I just love this absolute weirdo.

This coffee table pic is when he was having too many feelings, and went under the table to feel them all.

Scary Dinos!

Today, we went up and saw a Dino exhibit up at the USANA amphitheater. They had a Dino thing - they had set up a bunch of animatronic dinosaurs, had an audio tour that you could listen to, and then you just drove around (apparently in pre-covid times they had it inside and you walked around, but now you just drive around in your car) and saw them. It was pretty fun! Sadly, I was in the back of the car so I couldn't see super well, or take any pics, but we had fun. The fellas were having a heck of a time. At the end, they asked if we wanted a picture. We said yes! And then they took what I can only describe as the worst picture I have ever seen.

YIKES. I didn't anticipate how bad this would be, but eh. It was still a fun time and I'm so glad we got to take our dino-lover Gecko to this.

Provo City 5K !

Y'all! Today was my first race since 2019! Since the crap that is Covid ruined all of 2020 for all of us, this year is slowly returning to a few normal items. First off, the race! I was so hype! I knew I would be slower this year, since I have spent the last year having fun instead of doing speed runs, but hey, I knew I wouldn't die, and that's all that matters.

It was such a fun race! I don't know how I did with times/placement/etc., because they had a computer glitch, and they couldn't match up any runners with their bibs or times. Luckily, everyone got a finisher's medal, so at least I got something!

I am hype to be back in races and excited for the upcoming year!
