Vegas, Day 2

Today, we just did a mishmash of things in Vegas, just a few ideas. First, we went to the Flamingo Wildlife Exhibit. It was pretty fun. Most of the stuff was shut down for Covid, but we still got to see the flamingos.

Then we walked around a sugar store (HECK YES) and then went and rode the High Roller Ferris wheel. Did I snap any pics there? Oh of course not, I just enjoyed the view and everything haha.

Here's what a mock up of it looks like:

It was really nice, just a slow ride around. Husband did get a pic at the top, so that was nice.

We stopped at a patisserie in the Bellagio later to get some treats. They have chocolate fountains just all over the place, with some flowing chocolate (is it chocolate? Is it paint? I don't care)

It was a pretty good day. We had some news in the afternoon that wasn't great, but we'll talk about that later!

Fast Cars

All right all right, let's get this party started. Our major plan for the day was starting at 11:00, so we had some time to kill after we got up. It was already way warm, so we grabbed our suits and hit the pool. Epifanio had a great time, of course.

It was VERY COLD in the water. I don't know if they have the water colder, because it gets so hot, but Darth couldn't even handle the water at all. After he jumped in, he came out and immediately got under his towel in the sun. Because Epifanio copies everything he does, of course he did too.

Then, we hit the road. My gift to Husband was for him to drive some fast cars for the afternoon. He drove a Ford Shelby and a Ferrari. OOOOooooh. We snagged pics in front of the cars, of course.

We all hung out in a waiting room type area and got to go outside and watch him when he drove. That was a lot of fun, too, surprisingly.

Then he got to come hang with us between cars, and the fellas tried on his helmet.

Then they let the fellas get into the cars, which was a thrill for them.

It was so much fun!

That night, we went to our first restaurant in a YEAR. Y'all, that was wild. I almost couldn't believe it. We chose a TGI Fridays (and by chose I mean, that was literally the only thing open after a few other places we had tried near us had been a bust, so really, we just ended up there). My sister ordered a cotton candy cosmopolitan, of course I wanted to try it.

It ... tasted like alcohol so it was gross haha. Husband ordered a donut cheeseburger which was actually insane.

I tried that also and surprisingly, it works!

We had such a fun day, and it was a hoot every minute. Glad to be taking this little vacay.

Time for Vegas, Baby!

Y'all, it is time! I bought Husband a gift for our 10 year anniversary two months ago, and today we finally left to do it! It's in Vegas, so the drive is a little long (haha) and we decided to make a weekend of it. Epifanio is turning 2 this weekend, so we made it a whole shindig. We packed up the car, and met with everyone to hit the road. Epifanio was excited.

He just loves cars, he loves being in them, so it took a little to get him out of the car and into his car seat.

We drove to Fillmore and then stopped for some lunch in a Subway. That goober, sitting at a different table, turned around to get our drinks.

We made it safely to Vegas, and after getting into our rented condo for the weekend, we grabbed some dinner. We had wanted to hit up the pool in our complex, but then the owner didn't leave us the key fob for it. After some communication, they finally brought it over, just in time for it to be bedtime for the kiddos. At least we got it! And now we're ready to party.

Vegas Day 2

We originally had decided to just make today a chill day. Since it's a Sunday, we figured we could just play games, go on walks, etc. But then we decided to hit up the strip again, and catch the things we had missed. First, we went on a walk before breakfast, to get the blood flowing. We told Epifanio he had to walk instead of being carried, and he was devastated.

After breakfast, we headed to the strip. Our goal today was to see the Bellagio fountains. As we started to walk, we came across a guy playing drums. Gecko wanted to play, and luckily, the guy let him! I have a long long video of this, but this short one will suffice.

Then we kept walking around. At some point we figured we may as well take a pic, for the memories. One with masks of course, and one without.

Then we walked around a bit more, and finally, we got to see the fountains! Thank goodness, they were a good time.

That's a wrap on Vegas! We'll be heading out tomorrow, it was a fun, short trip, just what we needed.

Walking around Vegas

For our first official day in Vegas, we decided to just walk up and down the strip, looking at stuff, masked up, of course. First we went to the M&M store, the fellas had their minds blown by all the candy (even though we went just a couple of years ago!) Then next we went to the Coke store, and we did the Coke Around the World thing, where you try the cokes from everywhere. I filmed when they drank one called The Beverly - from Italy. We adults have tried this before, so we knew it tasted awful. The fellas didn't, so I had to record their reactions.

Then we just walked around in general. We stopped at the Hershey's store as well, to see what they had to offer (not much).

Then we stopped at the Shake Shack to eat lunch. We were all at one table outside, until we were informed that only 4 people could be at a table at a time. Which meant that I was at a table by myself (not forever, but just for this picture haha it made me laugh at the situation. Sure we were 5 people but we were all in the same family, so it just seems a dumb rule)

After more walking around, Gecko was sick of walking (he gets so tired so quickly, what a lazy guy). So we dropped off a few people, and then my sis, myself, and Darth went out and about again. We took a pic at some point because I realized that my sis and I were in the same themed clothes - Schitt's Creek - with both the shirt and the mask. I thought we looked a bit like Atti and his two mommies.

After our next set of adventures, we headed back to the house for dinner. We were pretty spent and ready to just hangout.

Vegas, Babeeeee!

Well, it's Martin Luther King Jr Day, which means its a 3 day weekend! BUT, I have this Friday off (In my job, I only work every other Friday), so technically, I have a 6 day weekend, hot dog! So we decided to make a long weekend of it and go to Vegas. Now, are we going to do anything that we wouldn't do here? Nope! But it'll be in a slightly warmer location, so I am hype. We found a good AirBnb for a good price, and planned our trip. Husband had to bow out at the last minute due to some school stuff, and he was missed. So after packing up our suitcases, we hit the road this afternoon. We made pretty good time! After a trip to the grocery store for some essentials, we settled in for the night, watching a movie to wind down. Epifanio was told he had to go to bed, and he, in typical fashion, was a drama king about it.

This just made me laugh so hard. That fake crying is perfect. Soon after, we all went to bed, nobody was willing to stay up past, oh, 9:00 or so. What can I say? We rock out hard.

Las Vegas, Part 2

Today was made of traveling back to Utah (yes, we just drove down for the concert, slept, and came home). But we had a few hours in the morning, so we hit up the M&M store, and the Coca-Cola store. Just for fun, we did the Tour Around the World, where they serve you 16 kinds of Coke products from around the world. CoKe

They serve it to you on a tray, and with each tray is included the drink name, and where it’s from. Some were really good, and some were so awful, we couldn’t take more than one sip. Coke2

We are just getting ready to try them here – we’re still smiling because we haven’t tried the most awful one of all – the Beverly. It’s a Coke drink from Italy and it tastes AWFUL. A couple of people drank the whole cup on that one in a challenge and they immediately regretted it. It was a lot of fun, though. After we drank our fill of gross sodas, we hit the road, and made it back safely, and super tired and exhausted. It was a fun trip, can’t wait for my next one!

Las Vegas!

Today, we left Utah bright and early and made our way down to Las Vegas. We were going for one reason, and one reason only:

TO SEE BRITNEY SPEARS IN CONCERT!

I have never been so excited for something! Ok, that’s not true. My level of excitement for my whole life is always pretty high, so to see this, I was even more excited. We made it down there in pretty good time, and arrived about 3:00ish. After checking into our hotel, we went over to the strip. We went to the Titanic artifact exhibit.

Titanic

Also, I should specify here, we took a big group. Myself, Adam, Rory (my younger sister), Austin (bro-in-law), Chantelle (his wife), Danielle (her twin) and Tiffany (their older sister). We all were jazzed for Britney! Except for the guys, they were going to go to Ka, a Cirque de Soleil thing. After the awesome Titanic exhibit, we went to the Bodies exhibit (both gross and cool) and then over to Spears!

Britney

It was an AMAZING concert! Did she lip-sync? Absolutely. Were her dance moves lazy and clunky? You bet! But was it awesome? HECK YES. It was amazing. 90 minutes of screaming along to her music and dancing and having fun. Finally. we got out of the concert, and barely made it back to the hotel before collapsing in an exhausted heap on the beds. It was so fun – and something I have been wanting to do since I was a teen and started loving Britney.
