Activities seem so good in theory...

I kept thinking like, every day this week of things I needed to write on. I kept having things to keep you all updated on, but then it comes to the one night that I actually have the time to write, and here we are, can barely remember anything. But I'll do my best!
So, we had a FHE activity this week, which was a big relay/game night, best team left standing. I was wearing my lady cop sunglasses (read: aviator glasses, but I think they look like cop glasses) at the beginning of the evening, because it was super sunny, of course. A few hours into it, the sun had gone down, so I put the glasses onto my clothes to hang on. I forgot that they were in my pocket at one point, so when I tackled someone to the ground, they were smashed! I was so sad, they were a favorite pair of glasses. But surely I can find some more, so I'm ok with losing them. Also, later in a race I was doing, I fell in some mud, which wasn't the worst thing ever, but it sucks to fall in mud! The sprinklers were on all night, so the ground was so muddy all over the place. But it was nice and cool all around the park, so that's a plus.
Lately, peoples around me have been doing all sorts of great things for me. On Tuesday, my mama brought me home some tacos, for Taco Tuesday, and then today, she washed all my bedding for me. My brother filled my car up with gas, Chelle brought me a delicious cookie to work, and my dad cut up four pineapples for me, since the electric knife scares the heck out of me. It's nice to have peoples take care of you like this-I hope this doesn't change!
Last night was the MLS All-Star game, which was fun. It kept me up way past my bedtime though, which was just unfortunate! All day I felt so tired, and then I meant to go to sleep ridiculously early tonight, but that didn't end up happening, of course! Right now I'm furiously typing to finish, so I can go to sleep, at the same time I'm soaking my foot in Epsom salts to try to get rid of an infection I have on my foot. I've been getting this massive blister on my foot, and it's not getting better, I think it's just getting worse, so I'm trying to fix it! I hope it works, because this foot is driving me crazy, and now it just hurts, and that's just annoying.
I guess that's really all I have for now, plus I'm just beat! I'm going to try - which is an empty promise, but I really will - to do better about keeping you updated, but until then, these posts will have to do!

The Power of Vieve

So, in general, I don't like children. Everyone knows this. There are moments when I'm around them that I'm like, hey, these tiny persons are ok, but then a few minutes later, I realize that no, its actually not like that. But anyway. I do, however like my nephews. I do like my niece, lets not leave her out, but she dislikes me very much, which I don't know why. I'm aces! Just ask the other kids. Out of the 3 nephews I have, one of them likes me the best, that's my Nathan. I'm not really sure why, but he thinks I'm too cool for school, so he does what I say, regardless of what that is. This past Sunday was one such event.
I went to visit my sisters' new place, which I hadn't been to. They were giving me a tour, and Nathan and Jack came with the sis and me around the house, the yard, etc. They were showing my their pool/clubhouse and I said to Nathan, "you should jump in". His mom, my dear sister Katja, told him that he better not, or else he'd be in trouble. He had resigned himself to this, and then I said to him one more time, "you should jump in". He of course, was fully clothed. He looked at me, looked at his mom, asked if he would get in trouble. She laughed and said no, and then he asked (another 15 times...) if she was sure he wouldn't get in trouble. After being assured he wouldn't get in trouble, he went for it. Just ran over to the pool, and, very gracefully, I might add, just jumped in the pool. Not even a cannonball, just a little jump. He got out, and looked like this:
So good for him, he did just what I said! This is why I like to hang out with Nathan-through thick and thin, I know, he'll do just what I say, regardless of what his mom says. I can't wait to see what else I can get him to do...

This is what comes of doing good!

I haven't given blood for a long time. Not because I am against it in any way, it's just that when you get a tattoo, you're not allowed to give blood for a year following it. My year after my last tattoo ended a few months ago, and I've not had the opportunity to give until today. I only have one good vein, on my left arm. I've never had a vein visible in my right arm. So today, I get there, and answer the questionnaire, (which, by the way, I find so funny to answer) and then I get all set up. They sectioned off the arm, drew lines on me, and put some of that iodide stuff. I was totally ready.
She puts the needle in me, and it seems ok, but after a few seconds, she kind of frowns at my arm, and calls over this other guy to "take a look at this". I perk my ears up, because nobody likes to hear that. So then he does some stuff, asks how it feels, then says things should be ok. I'm sitting there for a bit, doing the squeeze-every-5-seconds thing, and then the girl comes back over. She looks for a few seconds at my arm, then calls another girl over to take a look. Well, by now, I'm thinking this is a huge mistake. She then informs me that I've clotted too early, so I've stopped giving the blood, or something. They fiddled with the needle for a minute or so, which hurt the whole time! They take it out, and I don't know what they're talking about, because I kept bleeding a lot. They had to change my gauze and everything. They wrapped my arm, and I left, with a juice box (that of course I spilled on my white clothing) and a Fig Newton.
As the day went on, my arm just hurt the whole time. Near the end of the day, after I take off the tape, I see my arm and see this delicious bruise:

I don't even know if you can really tell from the picture, but yeah, it's quite bruised. Not only is there that purple-ish part that's totally visible, surrounding it is also a deep purple bruise. I can't believe all this happened, from me just wanting to do a good deed. Well, never again, I tell you. Never again.

Nuggets of Info

Well, ya'll, it's been a crazy few days. I have many informations to share with everyone, so I decided that instead of doing multiple entries to catch you up, I'd just do one, with nuggets of fun for you!

I cut my hair this weekend! Not just a inch, to trim off the dead ends, I cut off almost five inches. Its not too short, thank goodness, but for right now, I miss my hair. I miss how when I used to swing my hair, I'd feel it on my arms. Now...I just feel the air. But I keep telling myself, hair grows. And it'll be healthy hair!

I had a great 4th of July. I didn't do anything crazy, I mostly just spent the day outside, but it was nice. Ended the evening with a fabulous thing of fireworks (purchased at the Costco) and had a fun time. I ended up meeting a tiny child who I actually liked! She gave me a hug at the end of the day, it was adorable.

I have been eaten alive by mosquitoes of late. I have about 4 on my legs that look just gross, and they itch all the time. I tried so hard not to scratch them, but it's so hard!

I went to FHE-for the second week in a row! Now don't anyone think I'm getting too active though-we're just trying this on. We played volleyball and kickball (and I played some soccer with a friend) and I got a massive bruise on my ankle. It's about the size of a small apple. It looks awesome! I would have posted a picture, but I can't seem to get it to take right. Sorry, peeps.

I think that might be it for now. There are of course more things to talk about, but I'll see if I can't get those to be their own entries.
