Grad-a-Palooza

Today I went to two different high school graduations. Now with my SIL's on Monday, this would make 3 in one week, oy. I went to Orem High and Mtn View, as I have Laurels who go to both school. It was a zoo to find them afterwards, but worth it for the celebrations.

I'm gonna miss these gals now that they'll be out of YW but I am so excited for their next phases of life!

Accidents happen

Since school got out, I have been on an organizing bender. I have nearly finished it all, at this point. There's just one more thing to do, and today was the day. I asked a friend of ours, Cole, to help me out, because when I tried to lift this stuff up the stairs, I couldn't budge it an inch. And with Husband at school all day this week, and the complimentary dumpsters the city set out leaving at the end of the week, today seemed as good a day as any. We had a dolly that we were going to use, but the tires were flat. So we grabbed some pumps and went to work. As we were pumping away, all of a sudden BOOOOM one of them blew. We were in the garage, and the sound was so loud, it sounded like a gunshot. Our ears were ringing, but at least we were all right.

We just had to use it best as we could, but we moved the stuff. The important thing of this whole scenario is that finally, all the useless garbage in and around my house is gone! My to-do list is done! I am so jazzed, let's all celebrate this.

Grad Time

Today is my baby sister in law's graduation day. Finally, she's graduated from high school! Good for her, good for her. We sat through an incredibly boring 2 hour ceremony and then we smiled and took loads of pics afterwards.

Since basically everyone in this picture is also in school, we'll probably be having many other graduation ceremonies in the next few years.

Brookies

I needed to make a treat for a family dinner tonight, and luckily I had some time before church to make them. Especially with this amazing recipe that was so easy.

Make a brownie mix. Any old favorite mix. Have some cookie dough. Pre-made, make it yourself, etc. Now, fill a muffin tin with paper liners. Scoop them about halfway full of brownie mix. Take a generous scoop of cookie dough, and flatten it into disc-like flat circle. Place them on top of the brownie mix.

Bake at 350 for 20-22 minutes. I forgot to take a pic after they were done but they were DELICIOUS. Even my brother in law, who doesn't really like sweets all that much, kept eating them, he loved them. I can't tell you how good these were. I think in the future I would make my cookie scoops bigger, I think they were a little too small. Enjoy!

Foto Friday

I had a small baby shower at my house for my sister-in-law. There were some people inside and outside, and eating food. When people left their chairs and things, Cookie took it upon herself to make sure that their plates were clean, how nice.

Cardapalooza

We had Stamp & Chat tonight, and what a great time it was. Great food, great cards ,and great friends were in company.

We made some excellent cards and I can't wait to send these to friends and family.

 I thought this was just such a super cute photo...until I was told that this is the face he makes while he's pooping and then it sort of got ruined.

He has recently discovered push-pops and oh my dang does he love them.

Quilts and Friends

Today we went out to dinner with some school chums of Husband's. Originally when he went back to school, he went back for his eMBA. But about halfway through the program, he decided that he wanted to get a PhD instead. The school determined that he couldn't do both programs at the same time, so he left the eMBA program. This past week, his MBA school chums graduated, so they had a dinner to celebrate. We went as well for the celebration. After dinner and before we left, all the students received quilts from another school mate - he and his wife had made individual quilts for everyone, with a personal touch.

They all looked the same, but there was different additions to each quilt. For example, under the U on Husband's, there is a small PhD. I just thought they were so sweet, and a nice end to their school year.

 My sister drew this heart around Gecko's head and I just thought it was so cute.

I wanted to see what it looked like if Darth was a villain. He looks dastardly.

Summer Begins

Guy, this week is the official start of summer! My finals were last week, finishing on Wednesday. But then I had things still going on and whatnot, so this week was the start. I am ready for the break, after going for 3 straight semesters. I have a couple of weeks here for some relaxing and cleaning (which I've already started today, and love it) and then I have familial obligations for a few weeks, so that'll take up some time. I am excited for this small break! I just want the opportunity to read, basically. I haven't read a single book for pleasure since like, winter break, so I am just so ready to be able to finish as many books as I can this summer. Plus, this little guy and I will hang out for the break too, and that'll be loads o fun.

Jazz Game

Today is the 4th game of the playoffs for the Jazz v Warriors. Now, I'm not usually into basketball, but this morning I got a phone call from a guy in our ward, offering us tickets to tonight's game. His work gave them to him, but nobody in his family could use them. Uhhh...yes please! Now, knowing that the Jazz are down 3-0 in the series, I didn't have high hopes for a win, but I was still going to have a good time. When we got there, there were shirts on everyone's chairs, so that we could all wear the colors of the team. Good enough for me, I put on my XL shirt, so did Husband. We snapped a pic, of course.

It was sad to watch the Jazz lose, but it was still a good game, and I am grateful to Bro L for giving us our tickets. Go, team, go!

Banana Oatmeal Energy Balls

I had a million bananas leftover last week that I didn't get to before they were too brown for me to eat. So I had to make a load of things with them. I made some oatmeal banana chocolate chip cookies, and then I still had a few bananas left. So I googled recipes and found one for energy balls, with no sugar. Sounded interesting.

2 ripe bananas
2 cups rolled oats
¼ cup almond butter (or peanut butter, or your favorite nut butter)
¼ cup honey
2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips
½ teaspoon cinnamon

Combine these into a bowl. 

 When it's all combined, it'll look like this:

Then, round them into about-2 inch balls and place them on parchment paper on a cookie sheet. 

Refrigerate for 2 hours, then you can transfer to another container. Store in the refrigerator. Guys, these are so good. They have no sugar (minus the chocolate chips) and dang, are they tasty. I recommend these for a healthy snack. 

Provo City 5K 2017

Today is the 10th anniversary of the Provo City Marathon/5k! I think I've run it for like, 6 years now? I'm not sure, but something along those lines. This morning I was feeling really sick before the race, I was actually afraid of not running it, but after a banana and a prayer, I felt better. I got to the race with a few minutes to spare, and felt all right. Then the gun went off, and so did I.

I finished with a time faster than last year - 24:41! Holy! I was so proud! I crossed the finish line, got my breathing under control, and checked the race times. I got 3rd place in my age group! Yaaaaay! I went back and found PJ making her way over, and then we hung around and waited for the medal ceremony to start. I got a pretty sweet medal, and I was so proud of myself!

The medal is so giant this year! I'm just so happy that I did pretty well, and that I had a good race!

I miss the babies now that they're gone, but they're still close to my heart. 

 He purposefully closes his eyes for pictures, it's so weird.

 But he does love having them taken.

This tyke literally woke up from his nap, rolled over, and ate a donut he say on the table. Sounds about right for this chubbster. 

FaceApp

There's a new app that just came out recently called FaceApp. In it, you upload a photo and it shows you what you'll look like as the gender opposite from you, an old person, and a young person. I did it this morning, and here's what they looked like:

As it turns out, when I look like a boy, I look EXACTLY like my brother. Legit, that is what he looks like, I wish I had a pic of him so you could see it, but I find I have no pics of my siblings. Old Vieve doesn't look too bad, so I have that to look forward to. And I definitely didn't look like that as a young 'un, but that's all right. This was a fun time ha ha.
