Bowling with the Team

With today being Presidents Day, all of the kiddos in my life had the day off from school. So naturally, we gotta keep them all busy. I took them bowling, which was so much fun to do with all of these jokers. Snapped some cute pics as we played, and then got a mediocre pic at the end haha.

These two had the most fun the entire time - it was so cute.

After bowling and a trip to a bakery, we enjoyed the Disney Channel Original movie Zombies 2 - I totally recommend!

Bowling

Happy New Year, everyone! I hope you had a great NYE. I can't believe I actually made it to midnight - I was getting so tired at about 10:30, but we soldiered on and made it. This morning we woke up and tried to find an activity that we could do that would be inside (nobody wants to be cold) but still fun. We decided on bowling. We went at about 11:00, which I'm grateful we got there that early because it got really busy after noon or so. But we had a great time. I barely beat the kids. E-Money and Darth had the bumpers up, and they had those dragon/dinosaur things that they throw the balls down, so I feel justified in my score, despite only eating them by about 10 points or so.

But it was so much fun introducing the small kids to bowling! That's the most fun thing about having kids around all the time - introducing them to things I love, that they can learn to love too. Hope you all enjoyed your first day of 2018!

I'm pretty sure this makes me a professional

This last Saturday night, I went bowling with a group of friends. We decided beforehand that we would play 2 games. Come on, nobody ever plays one game-the first is a warm-up. That turned out to be especially true in my case. My first game was horrible! I can't believe how bad I did. I ended up with a score in the sixties. I only had one spare that whole game. I don't depend on strikes and spares for my games, but oh my heck, not getting any totally ruined my score. Normally, I laugh off these scores, because I know how bad I do in bowling, but I was in total last place, even behind the 12 year old we had with us. Holy cow. So we start the second game, and I have actually improved! I'm getting some good scores, I'm not throwing my ball into the gutter, it's actually ok!
I was a few frames in, and I got a strike! Victory! And then...another! A third-which I was informed was a turkey! I couldn't believe it! As I was stepping up to my next one, I noticed that the front bowling pin was a different color. The guy on the loudspeaker announced that my lane had a money shot-if I got a strike with the neon pin in front like that, I would win five bucks. Well, of course this would happen to me. So I tried not to think too much about it, went to the line, threw my ball, and....a strike! Oh my gosh! I erupted into a scream, did a little jig, and then collected my money.
I ended up with a score of 165-which for me is freaking amazing. I think that now that I've been paid for bowling, this makes me a professional. I'm thinking of having some business cards written up, so that I can let people know how awesome I am. Naturally, on the next frame after my 4th strike, I bowled and knocked down 4 pins. It's ok that that happened-it brought my back down to earth. Some dreams are better to be short than have never happened.

We're gonna rock, we're gonna roll, we're gonna bop, we're gonna bowl

Everyone brace yourselves. Are you sitting down? Ok, this evening I went to a ward activity! I know what you're thinking. The words 'Vieve' and 'ward activity' don't belong in the same sentence unless the words 'skipped' and 'another' are also there, but I went. I was informed of said activity like, two hours before it was going to happen, but it sounded like it could be fun, so we went.
We hooked up with this other ward for bowling at BYU. I'd never been there, but it was ok. Unfortunately, planning for it went a little awry, so we didn't have all the lanes we were promised, but it worked out. It was me, PJ, PJ's sister Annie B, and this new fellow we had met there who I actually had known years before, who I re-met tonight. Because there weren't enough lanes, we pulled out a deck of cards and played Egyptian Rat Screw until we got a lane. I love that game-and we had a new twist on it last night which was a blast. I'll have to be more careful when I play it though, I kept hurting myself.
We finally got our lane and starting bowling, and it was a lot of fun. And, to top it all off, I won! I beat all six people in our group with my dazzlingly high score of 122. I never win at bowling-I'm so awful-but I totally did well last night. But even though it was a ward activity, we didn't hang out with anyone in our ward, we just hung out with the people in the other ward. But I had a blast-maybe I'll go to more activities in the future!
