Haircut Time
Today was another haircut for Cookie, and naturally she was mad about it. This is her, trying to get me to leave before we went in.
And then when I picked her up, she SPRINTED to the front door and waited impatiently for me to let her in.
She looks great, she just hates it so much, what a great dog.

Followed by the First Day of Preschool
Not to be outdone, Gecko starts preschool today! I am honestly so excited for him.
He doesn't have all the crazy pics like his brother, but he's just so happy all the time and I can't wait for him to make new friends his own age!

First Day of Kindergarten
Y'all, Darth is going to kindergarten today! I honestly can't believe this little weirdo is 5 and finally old enough to go to school! His mom took some great pics, I am glad to share them here.
What an absolute goober, I hope he does well in school!

And a Happy Birthday to Me!
Happy Birthday to Me! Y'all, I am turning 36 today, is that crazy? Sometimes I can't believe I'm in my thirties, how nuts. I went to lunch with my DHI peeps, at Los Hermanos, super delicious. They had me wear a sombrero as they sang to me. This picture isn't too flattering, but still a good time
I made my own cake, I did a yellow cake with a chocolate whipped cream frosting. I tried to do a minimalist cake, with no frosting on the sides, and it didn't turn out too badly. It's not as pretty looking as the one I did with chocolate cake for Memorial Day, but I still liked it. The writing on top is me trying my hand at doing chocolate lettering. I need to do it thicker next time - but hey, all of this is learning from my mistakes!
It was a lovely day and I'm glad to have another birthday in the books.

Angry Baby
Today I finally saw all of the fellas after the trip. I had a small baseball hat that I got from the Red Sox game, and I made Epifanio wear it, because I thought it would be funny. He did not agree.
Then after a clothing change (honestly babies are the worst sometimes), he seemed in better spirits.
Just look at that baby! Too cute.

Final Day in Boston
Today is the final day in Boston (well, we fly out tomorrow, but you get the idea) and I had done most of the things I wanted to see yesterday, so today was a light day of sightseeing. First I went to the Boston Public Library, I was told it was a hot spot. They were right!
Here's a mural of books they have on the wall there, the panoramic didn't super work, but you get the idea.
Then here's Bates Hall, the reading room. Gorgeous!
Then right outside the library is the Boston Marathon Finish Line. It's in the middle of a working road, so I couldn't get a great picture, but I gave it a go.
Then, at the night, we went onto the U.S.S. Constitution, a working ship. We had a private party there, it was part of Husband's conference. We got to wander the empty ship, taking pics, asking questions, getting tours, etc. It was legit so great!
Then, at 7:30, they needed to ring the bells to mark the time. I had asked if I could ring the bells before this, they said I could do it then. So you know I waited around to do this! It was marvelous!
It was just such a great trip. It simultaneously feels like I've been here forever and that I just barely arrived. But I had a great time and did so much!

Then, I was told that there's a road, Acorn Street, that is a super "Instagram worthy" road. Meh. It's all right, but meh.

Boston Shenanigans
Today, we went on the Freedom Trail, a 2.5 mile walk around Boston, marking important points of the revolution. We went really early (9:00) this morning, so we mostly had the trail to ourselves for a good part of the day, it's nice to be an early riser sometimes! I'm not going to include pics of the buildings, that's just boring, but here are a few highlights.
Here is the official seal that you see on the trail a lot.
I have a picture from when I visited Boston 10 years ago in this same position, of course I had to do it.

Of course we had to take a picture when we saw this street.
Then, we stumbled across the Holocaust Memorial. It's a beautiful memorial, it has tattoo numbers of those at the concentration camps on each of these glass panes. There are 6 towers, one for each concentration camp. In addition to the tattoo numbers on here, there are also quotes from survivors on the walls, it's a sobering reminder of what they went through.
Although the memorial made me tear up, otherwise it was a lovely day, full of history and highlights of our country.

Hello from Boston!
Hello hello from the east coast! Husband has a conference in Boston, so of course I tagged along for a small vacation, the first of our summer (now that summer is over...)! I flew out on Friday, getting in around midnight. Then Saturday, the party began.
First we walked around the Boston Commons, seeing the "Make Way for Ducklings" statue, and just taking in the sights.
Luckily it hasn't been too hot, so I'm hoping that stays all weekend!

Then in the early afternoon, we went to a Red Sox game at Fenway stadium. Sadly, the Sox lost 12-3 (a giant blowout!), but I still had a good ol' fashioned hot dog and enjoyed the game.

A Graduation Package
Y'all, it has happened. I turned in my last assignment. I took my last final (did not do well - turns out I should have studied even a little bit!) and I'm done!
To celebrate, a friend brought me a care package, a celebration of finishing and now I get to live a life of leisure as a stay-at-home-woman. (haha I wish! Now's the time to get a job!)

There are a few books, some ice cream, a chew toy for Cookie (too kind), some nail polish, and some stickers. Fabulous! I can't wait until I can read these books - for leisure, not for an assignment! - and just have a little bit of chill after all these years of just doing so much school work all the time!

Lake Day Part 2
Today we went to the lake again, and although it rained right as we got there, the sun finally was out and we got to have a great sunny warm day! It was grand.
This is how I like to lake - being pulled around in the tube as PJ padd;es. Darth's favorite activity is to hang out on the paddle board.
