Today, I took Darth on a 2-mile walk. I'm trying to determine if he is ready and able to walk a 5K with me soon. The longest we've walked together is about a mile, so I wanted to double it and see how we went.
He did a lot better than I thought he would have! Of course it was super warm and that was a factor (we took many small breaks in any shade he could find) but he had a great time. He still had enough energy to be climbing on rocks.
I think he's ready to tackle a race!

Minimal Cake Dessert
There's not really a name for this, as far as I can see, and it's really such an easy cake, I loved it. And I felt like it was sort of healthy (even though it isn't) and that was a nice thing for my brain. Here it is:
It's so easy to make. Basically, take your favorite chocolate cake recipe, but split it between 3 pans. Since I only have 2 8-inch cake pans, I bought some disposable aluminum pans, and they were square. After baking them, I let them cool. Then I made some typical whipped cream - 2 cups of whipping cream, some vanilla, and powdered sugar. (the recipe is on the carton of cream, if you need it). Put down one of the cakes, spread some whipped cream, another cake, another cream, last cake, last cream and then throw some berries on top (I chose strawberries, blueberries and raspberries). I'm sure I could have made it prettier, but meh, I honestly don't care.
It was so good! We cut the cake into 9 pieces and that was a plenty big enough for anyone. I totally recommend this for anyone, and it was legit the most easy.

On their fathers' side, the fellas have a photographer aunt. Sometimes this works out in their favor and she takes pictures of them. They had some done tonight and they are some pretty cute guys.

Just Doing Baby Stuff
A lot of the problem with a new baby being born is just how cute they are and how much you want to cuddle them and snuggle them. Today, we all hung out, and I had some time to snuggle him with all my might. And even though these pics might not be super interesting to anyone, I don't actually care, this is my blog, and I want to see them.
I like this pursed lip picture because I also have pics of his brother doing it, it makes me laugh so hard.

A New Home
I've talked before about how I have many Lego men hanging out on my windowsills in the kitchen. Unfortunately, they have outgrown their home, and I needed to find a new place for them. Luckily, we found some sweet shelves to put on the wall. And, for this last Christmas, I was given a gift from two different people, Lego tape. This is a tape you can put down, and it has Lego stuff on it to help hold the legos in place. Here's a pic to help illustrate:
So I got the shelves up, put some tape all over the place (tastefully, of course), and then assembled the Legos up there. I put them in by genre. It took two days to do all of this (with shelf construction, and I had to clean off each individual lego. Where they sat on the windowsill was right underneath the paper towel dispenser, and every time you rip a paper towel off, a bit of towel dust fluffs off onto the Lego, so they were covered in white dust). But now they look great in their new home and there is a little room to spare for any new guests.

A Train!
Gecko and Darth love trains. Love them, obsessed. Luckily they live near a train track. As we were chilling today, we heard a train whistle and sprinted out to see it. Luckily, we got there just in time. We were so happy we had to take a picture at the occasion.

He's Home!
Y'all, Epifanio is home! We got him all dressed for the occasion. Newborn clothes are just too big on him, he's so bitty.
Look at how small small he is, aw.
He had to get in some big boy stretches, and naturally I had to get a pic.
And then I needed all the snuggles, and I got them!Look at how small small he is, aw.

SuperDarth
Today I was watching the fellas again and we walked to the local park. And by we walked, I mean, I walked and pulled their lazy butts in the wagon. We had a fun time, and left when it was getting a bit to hot to hang out in the sun. I snapped a video of Darth doing some stuff, I loved it. Gecko showed off his skills by just straight up running away, good job buddy.
Today, when Rory went to the hospital, we learned that Epifanio has a touch of the jaundice. Nobody is worried about anything, and look at what a diva he looks like with his eye mask.
I just love it, he looks like he's so pampered. He's getting a little better each day!

Happy Mother's Day!
Happy Mother's Day, y'all! I hope everyone had a good one. We had a lovely one with a few of the mothers in our lives, and ate some yummy food. While we were waiting for the food to cook, we were just hanging out, and Gecko gave me a great angry face.
Everyone, Epifanio has his feeding tube out today! I'm trying not to be super positive but oh man, this feels like a good sign to getting him out! Let's see some baby pics.
Then later, Rory got to head in and after feeding the small lad, got to give him a bath, look how small and happy he is in his bath.

Getting Better
Rory is getting discharged today from the hospital, but Epifanio still has to be in NICU for an undetermined amount of time, alas. I went and visited them today after school (yeah...classes already started, I had a whopping two days of vacation) and brought some food and snacks for us all to eat and hang out. When I got there, they were just finishing feeding the baby and I snagged some adorable pics of them together.
He's still looking pretty good, with his tiny feeding tube in his nose. That actually makes me so sad. And they've moved his IV from his arm to his head, which is just horrifying, but he doesn't seem to mind it so I'm hoping he can't really feel it. Poor tyke, I can't wait for him to come home.

Off the CPAP!
Good news, they took Epifanio off of the CPAP today! Unfortunately, he was admitted to NICU, so we still haven't had much time for snuggles, I haven't even held the tiny fella. He looks so small, even though he was born a solid 7 lbs 4 oz. But now you can see his tiny cute face.
Look at that small baby! We're not sure when he'll be home yet, but I look forward to lots of baby hugs.

Sleepover
Last night, because of new baby being born, I had the fellas over at my house all day and night, so it was first sleepover! Did it go well? No. No it sure didn't. But we did our best, and we got as much sleep as could be expected under the circumstances of them being scared to sleep in a place without their parents. I did get a super cute picture right as they fell asleep.
Then I brought everyone in to see their new baby brother, but they were a little more interested in playing in a closet, kids have no sense of what's happening haha.
But they had a great time while there.

New Addition
Y'all, we have a new addition to our family! My sister has finally given birth, and we have a small fella. I was there for the birth - which as everyone knows is much different than the movies but oy I still did not care for the experience! After the birth, we cleaned him off and I snagged the first pic:
And here he is, baby Epifanio! Unfortunately for small baby, his lungs aren't quite developed, so he's on a CPAP machine for now. Here's to hoping those lungs get stronger.

2019 Provo City Half
It's that time of year again! First Saturday in May means the Provo City 5K, and I didn't feel super prepared this year, my runs have been a bit slower (I've been listening to podcasts in my runs instead of music, so the pace has slowed, that's my bad). So I didn't have high hopes of doing well. Unfortunately, I was right - my pace had me finish an entire minute and a half slower than last year. Dang! Luckily for me, I still managed to place third in my age category, so I got a sweet medal.
Looks pretty cool, and I feel pretty great.

Graduation Day
Y'all, I have done it. College is (nearly) accomplished. I say nearly because I just have to finish a couple of credits over the summer. But! I am walking in graduation today! Everyone knows the procedure, so I'll just get to the pics.
So far things don't feel any differently because I still have classes. But come August, I can't wait to see how it feels to be truly done.
