Wedding Time

Today is the wedding of my ... not really family member but sort of niece? I don't know, but she's part of the family and we love her. It was an unfortunate 100 degrees today, which made it unbearable haha. Got my pic with the sisters in law, of course.

And then we had a fun and hot day of watching marital fun.

But it was lovely, glad that we could all be here.

Fancy Pic Time

We finally got the wedding pics back from my SIL's wedding ... in July. But hey, just glad to have them back!

Look at all of these cuties. Gorgeous.

Cupcakes Upon Cupcakes Upon Cupcakes

Today I had the opportunity to cater a wedding with cupcakes. They requested 400 cupcakes at first (they wanted 4 different flavors, 100 of each...but we were able to convince them that that was a heck of a lot of cupcakes, so the total ended up being 300. I baked all of the cupcakes on Thursday.

Then I made the frostings on Friday. Then, this morning, I frosted and decorated. First, I set up the stations of each flavor.

And then I got to work! I had the help of my trusty assistant, Husband, and we frosted/decorated for the next 5 hours or so.

First, we have Oreo, a chocolate cupcake, with an Oreo cookie on the bottom, frosted with Oreo cream cheese frosting, and then sprinkled with Oreo bits.

Up next is a Heath cupcake, a vanilla cupcake with a chocolate frosting, topped with Heath bits and a caramel drizzle.

Here we have a raspberry lemonade cupcake, a lemon cake with a raspberry frosting, topped with delicious slices of lemon and a raspberry. (My fav!)

And lastly, a strawberry shortcake(ish) cupcake. A strawberry cake, with a vanilla frosting. Topped with (and this was so dang good) golden Oreos smashed up, and then combined with melted butter and strawberry jello. Absolutely dynamite.

We then had to get them to the venue and get set up. It didn't take too long, but we probably took longer than necessary with our over-thinking.

I loved how it ended up looking. And then I was told at the end of the night - they only had about 30 left. Not too shabby! And this was a great thing for me, in terms of learning. Someone that I work with does cakes professionally, and she gave me so many tips that made this go so much smoother than it has previously, and it was pretty stress-free and amazing. So hype to get to use that knowledge in the future!

Wedding Day!

Well, today is the day, let the festivities really kick off. I'll just keep it brief, and to photo descriptions, basically.

We had a long long day, it kicked off with a civil ceremony...followed by a family luncheon....then it was the temple sealing...then photos...then the reception. I was WIPED by the end of the day. But it was still a good time.

Here am I, after getting my hair did, and my makeup done (by my sister, of course) and in the dress.
Look at this hecking hairstyle, I loved it so much.

Husband walked her down the aisle, and it was just so lovely.

Then we had the luncheon, it was just us eating, chatting, and taking pics.

(there were 8 women in the bridal party, and 4 dresses, so we each had a counterpart, here is mine)

Look at us looking all fancy. Then, onto the temple!

When I first showed up to the wedding, my new brother in law asked if I was hungover and when I saw pics of me, I went, oh, now it makes sense, these glasses make me seem like a drunk woman from the 60's.
Look at these dang cuties.

The nieces and nephews - so cute.
Then onto the reception!
The fellas joined - and they dressed themselves up for the occasion, which was the cutest dang thing I have ever seen.

Later in the evening, Gecko threw a wooden game piece (they had life size jenga) at Darth's head and cut it open. Classic.

All in all, a fun day! I can't wait to see the pics that the photog took, hopefully we'll see those soon.

Let the Wedding Festivities Begin

My sister in law is getting married tomorrow, and wedding stuff started tonight. We had the rehearsal dinner, followed by the bachelorette party. I was in charge of the bachelorette, and it went swimmingly.

First, at the dinner, my sisters in law and I got these pics, and I love them:

Then, onto the bachelorette. We were under some time restrictions because of the dinner (things didn't go as planned, but we just keep moving forward) so we just had treats, played games, did gifts, kept it low key. I did find the best sign in the world for the party:
(we forgot to do pics until the end, when people had already left, dang it to heck)
And I found the best stuff to put for decorations on the treats:

Tiny strippers hahahah.

It was a super fun night, and now we're all ready for tomorrow!
