 Finished this set pretty quickly, and its just so fun! 

Chocolate Gingerbread Cupcakes

 I was watching a Lifetime Christmas movie this past weekend, and in it, they made a chocolate gingerbread cake. It looked AMAZING so I knew I had to try. I found a recipe on Pinterest, and decided to make it into cupcakes instead. So, here's the recipe:

But instead of making it into pans, I put it into cupcake liners and baked for 14 minutes. 

Then, for frosting, I used this gingerbread one:

And frosted them, of course. 

They were so good! I was so happy and proud of them. 

Real Gingerbread Houses

This week at the local mall, there has been a gingerbread display happening. Today I finally went with my nieces and y'all, we were blown away by the gingerbread houses! Especially after my disappointing house that I made yesterday haha. But I took a few pic, to show the amazingness.

I honestly can't even fathom the amount of work and talent that goes into these! Holy holy cow! Good work everyone, I am in awe of what you do. 

My First Gingerbread!

Y'all, I have done my first gingerbread house today. For our YW activity, we got these gingerbread villages and each person just took a tiny house. I chose the chateau, because it looked like the easiest, and also, it reminds me of the cabins up at girls camp haha.

I should have something next to it so you can see how small it is, it's just about the size of like, a playing card. And it's certainly not great hahah but honestly, that's okay. It was my first attempt, all of our frosting bags were faulty (they were all just spitting out frosting everywhere) so I did the best I could under the circumstances. Maybe I'm ready to start with a regular size gingerbread house...soon.

National Gingerbread Day

Sadly, that day isn't today, but yesterday, Monday the 21st was National Gingerbread Day. And I celebrated by making some cookies. I picked a recipe off Pinterest and gave it a go.

What a mistake.

The problem was that this girl didn't have nearly enough flour in her cookies. These things were a sticky mess. But by the time I figured it out was after the 30 minute refrigeration time, and I didn't want to throw everything back in the mixer and hope to get the flour measurements right. So I just made boring circles instead of making them into cool shapes, and then I decorated them. I have no recipe to share, because I sure as heck am not going to share hers and have you guys as disappointed as I was. So here are my cookies to look at, with the resolve to find a better recipe.
