It's mine, all mine...shoot

Five days ago, just in February, something awesome happened. Ok, lots of awesome things happened, but one affects me the most. That would be me, finishing paying off my car. After a long and (slightly) expensive 5 years, my car is mine. Nobody else gets it, and I no longer have to pay for it! Think of that money windfall! Ok, the windfall isn't huge, but believe me, I am excited for it.
Unfortunately, February is also the time of year that I have to register my car. Luckily, I only have to get it inspected every other year, as most people do. When I logged into the website to register it, it wouldn't let me, it said I had to get my car inspected-I guess I have to do it every year now. After a mini-rant, I was on my way. It wasn't that I was necessarily mad about getting my car done, per se, it's just that I had brought my car in for an oil change the previous Saturday. Why couldn't I have known in advance, I could have killed two birds with one stone? But that's ok. Anyways, so I bring it in, get it checked out and...it failed! I was so angry with my (rather innocent) car. The windshield had a crack in it that was too big, the windshield wipers were too broken (I didn't even know they checked those!) and the brakes were bad. Well, shoot.
The following Monday, I brought my car in for the repairs. I had called them to see when they could get my windshield in, and surprisingly, they could get the part in in just a few hours. I had no idea it could be that fast! I assumed it would take a couple of days, but boy, is that good to know for the future. They had my car all day, and luckily, I had Chelle to take me to the car place to drop it off, and back up there when I needed to pick it up. The new windshield is so clear! This is my first new windshield since I got the car. Imagine the five years of rocks, etc hitting it. By now, it had been so denty and scratchy that seeing out of it sometimes was a joke. But these last couple of days, sheesh! So clean, I feel lke it's not even there! It's great.
I am glad of the new fixtures, and glad that its safe, but oh man, did getting all that done take a chunk out of my pocket. I will not complain though-getting those repairs done is a lot cheaper than trying to pay my hospital bills when my brakes fail on me on the freeway.
