Water for Daisy

Today I kept thinking that with these rising temps, the duck may be getting warm! So I wanted to give her some water to help her keep cool. Then I heard online that ducks enjoy corn, so I threw some in there to help her out, just in case.

She was so chill when I cane out and brought it to her! Now we'll see if she likes it.

Disney Day!

Today we did a Disney day - which is always a fun time, but since PJ doesn't love Disneyland, it's always fun when we get to go. We didn't have plans to actually do any rides, we just wanted to eat a bunch of the snacks they have there right now and hang out, which I LOVE to do at Disney. We did 1 ride - Small World, which is always a fun time lol.

I bought these two AT-AT popcorn buckets and Husband carrying them around like this was making me absolutely cackle,

We also did a drawing class and I tried to draw Ember from Elemental, I'm not a great artist, but it doesn't look too bad!

It was a fun day, and loads of great food that I didn't take a single pic of haha.

And then when I got home and put away the new ears I bought that day, I've realized ... my ear holders are now completely filled up!

New Plants!

With today being a holiday, of course we took it up on ourselves to do some outside work. We've been wanting to fix the front yard for a bit - there are some ugly flowers in there and we've been wanting to get rid of them since we've moved in. (here is where I would insert a before picture, but turns out I forgot to take one)

So we got to work. We pulled up the giant weeds in there, and got rid of the flower plants that were there as well (geraniums maybe? Hmm I have no idea) then we dug up the dirt and made the whole thing look fresh and new.

And then, we planted the flowers, and we were done!

So cute, I can't wait for them to get bigger and bigger.

2 Pound Cinnamon Roll

Guys. There's a cafe a bit away from me, that I keep seeing ads for. They have a 2 pound cinnamon roll. There is a challenge that if you eat it within 20 minutes (I think?) you get a free T-shirt but I didn't want to do that, I only wanted to try it. So we went today, and after a bit of a wait, we were seated, and the roll ordered. Finally, it arrived.

Look at this beauty. I got to work (Of course Husband and PJ also enjoyed some with me) and kept going until I was done. Did I feel slightly sick when I finished? Of course I did. But I did it. It was amazing.

Perfection.

Crystal Cove

Today I went to a new place a little south of myself - Crystal Cove state park. There's a bunch of mountains to hike and a beach to see. This weekend PJ is in town, as Husband is in Paris (without me, rude!) so we were having adventures just the two of us. So we went down to this state park and started with a hike. We chose the easy one, a 3 miler around.

We finished with that and then went to the beach. We ended up walking another mile on the beach to reach an area that has these adorable cottages (did I remember to get a pic, of course not) but the water was cold but felt so nice after all the work we'd been doing.

It was beautiful! It's wild to me that I live in an area where I can get to a beach in like, a 30 minute drive.

Tiny Winter Lego

The nice thing about finishing a giant Lego (like the latest, the shield) is that when you work on a tiny Lego, it takes no time at all to finish! This one was a free gift with purchase, one that I got at Christmastime.

The Final Numbers!

Well, y'all, we have the final duck egg count and it's 12! The incubation period has begun and this tiny duck just spends all day in the yard, hanging out with her ducks.

So now some shots of her just hanging out!

She's a little hard to see on her nest, but I am keeping an eye out on her all the time!

Captain America's Shield

Today I finished a Lego piece that has gotta be the most repetitive one I've done. It had so many "do this 18 times, do this 35 times, do this 17 times", it was so funny. But I finished! And it's great.

High as a Kite

About a week or so ago, Betty started to develop a cough and sneezing. We took her into the vet and turns out, she has an upper respiratory infection! Our poor doggo probably caught it at the doggy daycare place. We're not blaming them - illnesses happen - but it just sucks! So they gave us a few pills for her (an antibiotic, cough medicine, and ... something else I can't remember) and we gotta give them to her every 12 hours. One of them has an antihistamine in it and when we give it to her she gets loopy and sleepy and so weird.

She's such a little goob.

The Progress!

Today, I came downstairs and saw this little beauty walking around, and I knew what was about to happen:

Since it seems insane to update this every day with a new egg pic, here are all of them that I've taken:

( the pics seem to posting in whatever order they want, but you get it)

So now, I guess we're just ... waiting for all of them to be laid! How wild! We're gonna have a family of ducks!

A Business Dinner

Tonight was an awards dinner at Husband's job/school, so of course we had to go. Did I remember to get many pis? No of course not. But 2 of his students won awards, so it was really cool to see all the work he's doing and that his students are doing great also!

Disney Afternoon

Tonight after work, I wanted to get in a Disney after work, it had been a while since we'd visited. We got there, and of course, I had an impulse purchase of a guitar shaped popcorn bucket, which Husband tried to carry on his back, lol.

There's also a Tardis outside of the parks now, since Disney+ has acquired that show for streaming. Being nerds, of course we had to take pics with it.

And today is Epifanio's birthday! My baby is 5 years old! I sent him a Lego plane and this is what I got back tonight :

What a hecking cutie, I love him.

A Surprise!

The other day, a couple of ducks flew into the backyard, a male and a female. They would just fly in, the male would stay in our pool for a while, and the female just walked around. This has been going on for the last week or so, and we've loved watching them come in. Today, I went over to where I kept seeing the female hang out and found this:

An egg! One egg! I was shocked that she had just left the egg (she just flew away this morning and hasn't been back since) so I started to google stuff about this.

Turns out, this is what ducks do. They come into an area with water, they lay 12-16 eggs, one a day, and then after she's laid all she's gonna do, she will incubate the eggs for 28 days and then they'll hatch! So I guess we'll keep an eye here and see what happens!
