A Snowy Walk

About a week and a half ago, I made plans with my cousin to go on a walk today. We try to see each other outdoors (Covid and all, and she's a hella big risk because of some health issues) and with it being so cold, that's hard to do. But we made plans to go on a walk on a Sunday morning. Unfortunately for today, as I was driving over to our spot, it started snowing.

Oops.

But we made the best of it.

We saw lots of cute animals and tons of cute animal prints.

(you can barely see, but there are like, 4 deer in this photo)

Cute! And then at the end of the walk, I realized how ridiculous I looked.

Hey, buns are perfect for catching snow apparently. But luckily we were never really cold, and we weren't even too wet. Thank goodness, because seeing each other is just what the doctor ordered!

Snow Day

Today, as everyone noticed, we had a bucket of snow fall from the sky. The boys could not have been more excited. They got snow boots when they first moved here, and then we certainly haven't had any snow this Christmas! So when it started to pile up, they got super jazzed, so we put them in some snow clothes, and out they went. They had a great time, of course.

These guys being around bring back so much innocence and fun at this sort of thing, whereas as adults, we're just mad about having to shovel it all, we don't see the fun at snow anymore. Hope everyone had a great snow day!

A Blizzard!

Well, its finally happened. Snow has fallen upon us. It happened yesterday, but I waited until today to report on it. (Nature of blogging and all) I had heard tale of a storm for a few days now, but I didn't think it would be this big. I think the reason is because last year, there was no snow. We had maybe a few days of snow, but not in a row, and it didn't dump this much. In my head, its like the heavens opened up yesterday and just dumped a billion pounds of snow on us.

We have a window in our new office digs (well, temporary new office digs) and we just watched the snow fall, and I just marveled at it all day. Chelle and I got lunch, and were improperly dressed to go outside in this blizzard. I, in flip flops, had super cold feet, and my light jacket wasn't really helping me much. Chelle, in her capris and summery shoes was wet and cold as well. When we left for the day, we had to scrap the snow off of our cars, which I think was piled a foot high. It seemed. Of course, when I got in my car, my gas light came on. I hated getting out in the cold to get gas.

Snow was everywhere. When I went out this morning, I was turning into a parking lot, and my car got stuck. On the road, out of the left turn lane, I got stuck, so I had to quickly reverse, and try to get going again, and I got out of it. So now, here we are. It's winter. And it's more winter than last year was. It's cold...I'm finally wearing shoes and not flip flops...and I'm wearing coats. Happy winter everyone!

Today I am thankful that my car got unstuck by itself, and I didn't have to enlist the help of anyone else.

Snow belongs in its proper places: mountain tops, poetry and songs by Bing Crosby!

You know how in Finding Nemo, Nemo has that gimpy fin, smaller than the other? My car is like a Nemo right now. Yesterday, on my way to work, I turned on the windshield wipers, no big deal, but as it was going up, it broke! The bigger wiper, the one directly over what I see, just snapped right off! Of course, I'm freaking out, and thank goodness it wasn't snowing yesterday morning. I spent the drive willing nothing to happen, that it would stay where it was, and nothing would flip up onto my windshield, causing me to die. Luckily, nothing did, and I made it work safely.
When I got to work, luckily, I work with Pops, who grabbed the broken wiper and just snapped it back on. I left that night, worried about how it would do, seeing as how it had been snowing all day long. It worked! No problems, things were good. And also, an amigo from work scraped all the snow off of my car before I got out there, so shout out to him. Although, he doesn't read this, so he doesn't know about the shout out, but I'm sure he's picking up the vibes I'm putting out there.
Today, as everyone knows, it snowed all day again! I made my way out to the car after work, only to find another amigo at work scraping off my car! I have some fabulous guys working with me who are nice enough to do this stuff for us. A shout out to him, also.
I'm trying to take all this goodness that people are doing to me and pass it on to others, (A la Pay it Forward) but so far, I haven't had any good opportunities. I'm going to keep looking, and if you can see any opportunities come your way, take them. You can make someone's day just by the littlest thing!

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow...

Not really! Holy crap what is up with all this snow?! Just a few weeks ago, I remember commenting on how it was unseasonably warm for this time of year. Then all of a sudden, bam! We were hit, like a snowball, unexpectedly, like with a punch in the face, the way a real snowball hits. Today's snow fall was the worst-coming out from work, there was so much freaking snow on my car! Getting it all off was fun, dancing around it, and dodging snowballs from a co-worker was just another adventure.
With all the craziness of today, I thought of several things I'm thankful for, so I'm sharing it with everyone.

I'm thankful for the UPS guy who kept making his rounds, delivering my packages to me at 8 o'clock at night, in the gross weather and traffic.

I'm thankful for my dad getting me new windshield wipers, so I could deal with all this snow properly.

I'm thankful for mama, shoveling off the driveway so's I could drive my car in and out of there without getting stuck.

I'm thankful that my car has a heater, and I can travel in warmth.

I know there's loads more things to be grateful for, but these are the things that are in the front of my brain. I know the weather sucks, but you can find all sorts of things to be glad for. Give it a try!
