Tattoo for Mama

Today, my sister and dad and I went to get tattoos. We had decided a bit ago to get mom's last EKG on our bodies, leading into a heart. I did mine small and on my wrist, and sister did hers bigger on her forearm. Dad did something else entirely and I lament that I didn't get a pic of it. But here's mine.

It took nearly no time at all and wasn't even painful in the slightest, and then here are ours together :

I love them. I miss mama.

Love Like Emilie

My mom has been a crossing guard at an elementary near her house for several years now and to nobody's surprise, every single child loves her. My brother went to the school this morning and found this, and took a video of it. I love this.

Funeral Day

Today was mama's funeral. It was lovely, and absolutely one of the worst days ever. There's not much to say but I just wanted to get this out here.

Saying Goodbye to Mama

Today we said goodbye to my mom. We got in late last night, as previously said, and then this morning, we took mom off of the life support. They thankfully waited until I got to the hospital before doing anything so that I could say goodbye. We were there for several hours (its not like the movies, y'all) and this was definitely one of the hardest things I've ever had to go through. The hospital gave us my mom's last EKG on a little scroll.

She'll forever and ever be in my heart.

Happy Birthday, Mama!

Y'all, it's my mama's birthday today! Stupid Covid means that we can't celebrate it this week together, but when we're all allowed to see each other again, you can bet your bottom dollar we are going to have an excellent celebration and spoil her.

Happy Birthday, mama!

Happy birthday, Mama!

Y'all, it's my mama's birthday today, so let's all wish a happy birthday. We went out for dinner, at the delicious Cracker Barrel. We all wanted to try the chicken-fried turkey and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! Chicken fried things are just my favorite things, let's be honest, and it was nice to celebrate the day with delicious food and amazing people. Happy birthday!

(this is an unrelated pic of Gecko taken today, enjoy)
