Ward Halloween Party

Tonight was our ward Halloween party, and being sort of (?) in charge of it, I really helped out. I signed up to bring a cornbread and a dessert, and of course, Adam and I had great costumes. I know what you're thinking, are we going to see the costumes ? And the answer is no, I kept meaning to take a picture, but I sure didn't ever get one lol. We were Galinda and Fiyero from Wicked, but alas, no pics. That's fine, nobody is crying.

But I made my cornbread in the morning and then went to run some errands. I returned to find out

That Betty had sure gotten up onto the table and ate a good chunk of the bread. Gosh dang it this hacking dog. So of course, had to quickly make a new one.

The other thing I signed up for was a dessert, and I had chosen Black Velvet cupcakes. They were beautiful.

Look at these! I bought a special cocoa to make them black and not a dark brown and they were so good! I loved them so much.

The party was fun, Husband and I were in charge of beer pong (but not beer) for kids, and we had a good dinner of the chili cookout and then did a trunk or treat. These parties are always a fun time.

Break Your Fast

Today my ward did a "Break the Fast", with it being Fast Sunday and all. Here's why this is weird to me. In my head, these things are done in singles' wards, to help boost attendance and to increase flirting between the members, leading to marriage. (Is this a cynical view? I don't know) But in our ward, people are already friends, nobody is likely to marry anyone else since we're a family ward and mostly everyone is married already, so to me, having one is a mystery. Maybe it's to make sure we're all friends? Man, I do not know. It was a delicious event, despite running out of both cheese and desserts before I got a chance to partake. But hey, that's all right, it was still a good time.

I told you. When I started blogging every day, I told you that not all of them were gonna be winners and here we find ourselves.

A Night In Bethlehem

Tonight was our ward party, and then them was A Night in Bethlehem. They asked Husband and I to man a booth. They gave us the bakery, of course. This was one of the most stressful things I have ever had to do, so I don't know that I would have said yes in retrospect haha. But I think it turned out all right, and pretty much I am just excited to be done with it!
Here's our booth:
Husband is inside, setting up stuffs.

And then here are the treats I made, tiny brownie bites with a peppermint frosting. Yum!

It was a cute idea, I really liked the execution. Unfortunately, being in charge of a table meant I had to miss about 90% of the activities that they had, but that's all right. It was fun to be at the bakery, "selling" my wares to people.
