Manicure, anyone?

I have spoken before of my love of Impress Nails. So many times I can make my nails look pretty in almost an instant. I realized today, I have a lot of nails leftover from previous times. So what's a person to do? Organize! I bought a bead organizer from Amazon:

Then I used my handy dandy label printer to label it by size (the sizes are done with numbers). And then I separated then all by their sizes.

I love this. Now, I can grab some random colors and do a random manicure! I look forward to that day, can't wait!

Fancy Nails....in minutes!

Back in March, when the lockdown started, I knew that getting manicures would be a thing of the future. I know the lockdown didn't last FOREVER but I think we were in it for a good month and a half before I hung out and saw my family again. I am still not comfortable with getting my nails done (or hair...or going anywhere except for the grocery store, really) so I just resigned myself to not having nice nails.

Then, in August, I was introduced to press-on nails by Impress.

I know what you're thinking. "Press-on nails? Don't those fall off and look so tacky?" and the answer is, no!

So here are the nails that I applied back in August:

I love them! So, since them, I have become a convert. They claim to stay on for a week, but at 2 weeks they start to come off a little, and then I sort of help them come off, so that I can do the next pair. There are so many cute nails, and with a cost between $5.00 and $9.00 for a set, it's so much cheaper than going in for a manicure, you can afford to do as many as you want! I'm excited for Christmas coming up - they have so many holiday nails, I can't wait to wear them all!

Nail Time!

Today I was watching the fellas whilst their mom was at the doctor. After we walked to the park and had a fun afternoon, we came back inside. Darth said that he wanted to paint his nails. I said sure, and pulled out all the colors he wanted. He wanted a different color on each hand, and then of course, Gecko wanted the same thing. It looked great.

He loves his nails, and keeps showing them to everyone he sees.

Double Manicures

I was babysitting my niece E-Money tonight, and we decided to have some pedicures. I painted her nails, and then she wanted to paint mine. She did a bang up job, of course, at her young age.

She chose pink for our nails. After we were done, I had Husband take a picture of us, thinking it would be a nice memory, until I saw E's face in it.

This literally looks like I've kidnapped a child and tried to make it seem like we're having a good time. I even had told her to smile for it, but no, this look was the winning look. Despite what this picture says, we did have a good time, and after getting our nails done, we played in the park and then watched Frozen, what a fun night for everyone.

A Fancy Manicure

Recently I decided to have a fancy manicure done. Not for any real reason, but because sometimes it just feels nice to have your nails look a little bit fancy. I had them done in a navy blue, which is super distracting. Not to others, but to myself. Every time my eyes caught a bit of the blue, it made me realize how much I move my hands when I talked. It's not super bad, just something I became more aware of. My nails were getting too long, so I either had to redo them, or just take the polish off. I decided to redo them, to have a Disney theme, since the family is going to Disneyland this week. After about an hour or so at the nail place, I emerged with these amazing nails.
I just love these so hard, I want my nails to be like this always. If only it wasn't so expensive! But I am pleased, and it gives me such joy to see these nails every time I look down.

I have finally found it

You guys, epic news.

I have finally found a nail place that I really like. I know, it’s only my first visit there, and I should pace myself, and wait to see how it is two times in a row, but I had such a good experience today that I just want to sing it from the rooftops. I got a pedicure on a whim, and tried this place after googling pedicures in the area, and looking at reviews, to find a good place, since I haven’t had a good experience in the places I usually go. So, I went, and this is the end result:

Toes15

I am so happy with the nails, and it was such a good time. I’ll try again, naturally, and make sure that they’re still really good, but otherwise, I think I may finally have a place to call my own!

Nails are the Worst

Today, at work, Chelle and I were walking down to the break room for a small break and some refreshment. As we were chatting and walking through a door, some random thing on the door happened to catch my nail and it ripped it.Also as soon as it happened, a little pool of blood started to collect under the nail too.

Nail

You can’t really see it that well, but there’s a rip in the nail right above the pink part of the nail. Also, don’t make fun of my nails, when I had fake nails a hundred years ago, it ruined the crap out of my nails.

So now I’m just waiting for the nail to be ripped off, the crack will lead to a rip and I am almost crying in anticipation. As soon as I can man up, I think I’ll get some clippers and try to cut it off myself. Wish me luck, friends. Maybe I’ll post a pic on here when it happens.

Yellow Fever

I have a brother in law that’s getting married this week. I really should have been blogging about the misadventures regarding the wedding. There’s been dress drama, color drama, every sort of drama that just makes me laugh. Last Tuesday I finally got the dress I’ll be wearing to it, and then yesterday, PJ helped me attach a wide yellow ribbon to it, so that I had the yellow that everyone was wearing. Our dress choices that we were allowed to choose were yellow, white. or black. I’m wearing a black dress, but if we chose a black or white dress, we had to also wear something that would add a pop of yellow, hence my sewing on of a yellow ribbon. I was going to put a pic on here, but I realized that I’ll take one on Wednesday, when my hair is done and I look ok, instead of just a pic of the dress on the hanger. So hold on tight, kids, you’ll see it.

So, with the pop of the yellow on my dress, I decided to add some yellow in other places. I’ll be wearing a yellow flower in my hair, (not a real one) and I chose to paint my toes yellow. So, even though I painted my toes a week ago, I did them again!

Yellowtoes

Ta-daaaa! The color isn’t all that visible in the picture, but you can see them pretty well in real life. (to be fair, this pic was taken at like, 11 last night, with only the overhead light for light) And since I was on such a roll with the paintings, I painted my fingernails today!

YellowHands1

Ta-daaaa! These are super visible, so now you have an idea of what my toes look like in real life. And now, I feel ready to represent the color yellow at the wedding. Now, is it overkill? Maybe. But will anyone be looking at me, instead of the bride? Absolutely not, so I feel pretty good about my choices.

Effort…failing…

I love when my toes are painted. For some reason, when they are bare, I think they look horrible. I already think my toes are weird looking, and I think the polish helps cover it up. I have the opposite with my fingernails. When they are bare, I like it, I’m used to it. When I have polish (besides clear, ha ha) on them, I think they look crazy, and I always find myself looking at them. I do, sometimes paint them, but usually its just like, a peachy color, or a clear with glitter, which I love doing. I wanted to paint them the glitter color this week, but boy is it hard to do!

Thursday is when I wanted to do it. I had some time, dinner was cooking, I was just chilling. I took the old polish off, filed, etc, got a new clear coat on them, then I was all ready to paint them when dinner was going to happen, so I had to rush make my food I was contributing. Then the rest of the day was taken up my dinner, dinner at Boyfriend’s. family fun, etc, so I never got to it.

Friday was shopping, then nap, running, errands, movies, early sleep, so I couldn’t get it in there either. If only nails didn’t take so long to dry! If it took like, a minute to dry, I could do them whenever, but they take so long! Saturday I meant to do it, but then I accidentally started cleaning, and it took like, 3 hours to do, then the rest of the day got away from me.

Sunday was totally going to be my day, but then I overslept, so I couldn’t do it before church, and then afterwards, I started to decorate the Christmas tree (but didn’t finish it, a blog about that later), and then got done and had to write in here, and now even though I have an hour or two that will be free while I watch my Sunday TV shows, I just don’t know if I can bring myself to get up and get the polish. So yes, my earlier days, time got away from me, but right now, I think laziness might be my downfall.

So here we are, deciding if I will be painting. I’d like to say yes, but being wrapped up in my blanket sounds so much more appealing than having my hands outside, waiting for them to dry, hands getting chillier than the minute.

Red yellow green red blue blue blue...

This past weekend, I had a pedicure. I usually don't get these-I have a thing with the filing of the toenails that they do. It's not natural. But, PJ wanted to get one, and its nice to feel pampered, so I went. I was not disappointed. I had a massage chair, of course, I used the heck out of that. It felt awesome! They handled my feet nicely, and I didn't get any of the filing that they do. I chose, for my color, a bright blue, it looks quite lovely. I do feel, with the crazy bright polish, that my feet are on display. Since my attention is drawn to it always, I think everyone else's must be also, even though I know that isn't true.
My fingernails keep breaking. I used to get fake nails put on every couple of weeks, and a few months ago, I quit doing it. For many reasons, and I'm glad I stopped. It's nice to have natural nails. Because they're not yet strong yet, they will all get a little long-ish, then break quite suddenly. It makes me angry-I hate when my nails are too short. I thought that maybe if I painted them, they would maybe stick together a little, and then grow to be more strong. Because my toes are so bright, I thought my fingers could follow suit. They're not as bright as the blue, but I chose purple. It's like a deep purple, not like, crazy purple, and I like it. I am so awful at painting my fingernails, though, that it took me a long time to paint them. But at least they look all right. I don't need them to look picture perfect! In fact, I just literally finished painting them, but I wanted to get this (really exciting blog!) written, so I am taking a really long time to write this. I realize know that I should have written before I painted, or tomorrow, but oh well. I never really think things through.
I know this is not a very interesting post, but way to make it through reading it. When you see my nails though, don't be jealous.
