Card Boxes–Birthday and Otherwise

Today, I had a bit of time on my hands. I was going to work on my card swap cards, and then I found out that actually, I didn’t have to right stuff needed to make my cards, so no dice there. I instead, decided to make some more card boxes, because I have many cards just hanging around, they need a home. I decided to make a birthday card one, and a box for just regular cards. Here they are:

I really don’t care for the birthday box. I don’t even know what it is, but I hate it. I thought I liked the stamp that I used for the card font, and I think it was going to be different in my head, but when I saw it, I just didn’t like it. And I know what you’re thinking, why didn’t I just start all over again? Because once a craft is finished, it’s finished. I didn’t know how else I would fix it, so I just left it alone. I do like the other box, and that’s good, and that’s the one that I’ll be proud of, of the two of these.

Crafty Day

This weekend has been a weekend full of craftiness. Starting last Friday, after the surgery, I have just been working on crafts. There’s one big thing that I was working on all weekend that I actually finally finished today (I can’t say what it is, though, it’s a gift for someone!), and then I did a few other things. I’ve had them in the woodworks for a while, but finally I got them done today! They’re just more boxes is all, so lets not all of us get excited, but I like the way they turned out. The first one is a box to hold all of my gift tags that I got at card club last week. If you want to see them all, I direct you to this entry of Chelle’s blog, she did a lovely entry on them. I had some extra snowflake paper left over, so I chose that for my cover:

I like the little circles, telling you what they are. I made it pretty plain, but I like it. And then for my second one, I wanted a box for my church stuff. I seem to have a lot of stuff left over from my primary age, and teen years, but finally, I wanted it all in one location in case I needed to reference anything quickly. I made it pretty simple as well.

I don’t know if you can read it, but it has the YW values on the sheet of paper. It’s not all stuff from just YW, but I like the paper, and found it appropriate.

And for now, my crafting is complete, at least, until my next craft order comes in…which I hope is soon!

Today, I am thankful for being introduced to crafts and scrapbookings and cards. Things would have been pretty dull for me these past few days if I didn’t have these to take my mind off of things.

Show and Tell

This is my show-and-tell entry. First up is my box for love cards. I’m not really into this box. I thought it would turn out differently, I think, so when I finished, it was just kinda…meh. So here it is, in all it’s weirdy glory. Secondly, I made my box for Christmas cards. I really liked how this one turned out, actually, so yay! I think I only have a box or two left to make before all of my cards have a home.

My brother in law joined the army last year, about the same time that he joined our family, actually. I’ll refer to him as Captain, I believe. He’s not going to into combat; he’s going to learn languages, specifically, Chinese and Arabic. He went to Japan on his mission, so they told him those 2 languages would be good to work off of Japanese (if that makes sense) So Captain put out a notice on Facebook saying that he needed to practice his Arabic, so if anyone wanted anything written in Arabic, to let him know. Well, of course, I want my name in Arabic, so I requested it, and he sent me my name on Friday, and here it is for all to see!

That's pretty cool, right?! It doesn't really look like words to me, but a lot of languages do that to me.
