Cookie's Halloween Costume 2021

 Oh my gosh y'all, I forgot to share Cookie's halloween costume this year! Luckily I remembered! 

Amazing. 

Small Small Cookie

 Today, we got Cookie's remains back. Is it weird that I cremated my dog and then asked for the remains back? Probably, but I sure did it anyway. The box is lovely, and so tiny. 

With this box, they gave us a story, and her little paw print. Of course this all made me cry. 

I still miss her every day (I know, I know) and I keep looking around for her and wondering where she is when I can't hear or see her. I wonder when that will stop ... I know it just takes time! 

Farewell to my tiny love, Cookie

So, yesterday, on Saturday, we had a bad news call while in Vegas. Apparently, our tiny friend Cookie had a stroke-type thing (she had had one last week, but after we took her to the vet, they assured us she was okay) and wasn't doing well at all. My niece was taking care of Cookie, and she and my SIL took Cookie to the vet when this all happened. The vet told us that she wasn't doing well, and that it was probably time to put her down. We asked if we could hold off until we got home the next day, and he said yes. He gave her an IV drip of liquids (She was very dehydrated at this point) and some morphine to help with her pain. So we left early this morning and rushed home. 

My SIL dropped her off as soon as we got home, and we took some time to snuggle her. 

She couldn't walk, and could barely stand, so we wrapped her in a blanket to carry her around a little. We hung out with her a little bit and then we had to take her in. It was so incredibly hard to say goodbye to her. We have shared our lives with her for the past 8 years and I love her so. But she was suffering a lot, so it was her time, and she was about 15 years old, so she had a good long life. I will miss her so much, and she has taken a piece of my heart with her. 

Such a Smart Animal

 Well, the dog of mine is a real smart cookie. (see what I did there?) Today, she kept going behind her cage, where she then gets stuck. We have to go open the door behind her (thank goodness there is a bathroom door behind her) and let her out. So when she get stuck there again, I went ahead and recorded her, then tried to see if I could get her to come out on her own. 

It just makes me laugh so hard, what an amazing dog. 

Time for Walkies

 We took Cookie on a walk tonight, and that goofus wrapped herself around a pole. 

What an absolute genius, but I am proud of her for working it out herself. 

Cookie, our Driver

 Today we dropped our good friend Cookie off for her haircut. When we went to pick her up, we decided to grab a treat whilst we were out. Husband stayed in the car with her, and when I came out, I had to snap some pics with how cute she looked. 

Great driver, greatest animal. 

New Christmas Sweater Time

 I bought Cookie a new Christmas Sweater this year, and she looks great. 

Always hates getting her pics taken, but I love to take them! 

A Thief!

 Cookie is too small to jump on our bed anymore. She has to be helped up, so she doesn't get on our bed too often, just when someone takes pity on her. Tonight was just one such night. I put her on the bed, then went and brushed my teeth and got ready for bed. I came back and she had definitely taken over my spot. 

What an absolute thief! It was so cute, I couldn't be mad at her, of course, she is just enjoying the soft and cozy bed as we do. Of course I let her stay, I just snuggled in next to her. 

More with Scootch

 I saw Cookie just sitting in the living room in a cute fashion, so I went to quickly grab my phone to get a pic. Of course, as soon as I had the camera, she turned to look at me and ruined the pic. Alas.

Turns out I forgot to put Cookie into her Independence Day outfit, so I put her into it today. She was mad, bit so darn cute.

Guard Dog

There's nothing more that I love than Cookie thinking she's a real dog with real responsibilities. Today, she took on the post of guard dog - watching over us all

Shave and a Haircut

Our good friend Cookie got a haircut today, and although she hates going in, I do think she enjoys the actual grooming and coming out looking fresh. She got a small bandana this time and she looks great.

Snoozin' Scootch

I find that Cookie sleeps all the time. It's adorable, she just moves from place to place and snoozes a little while longer. Today she came over for a small scratch (you don't choose when to pet Cookie, she decides when she's ready for people to touch her) and then as she sat there getting some love, she was nodding off a little. I thought it was so so funny, I was glad I happened to get it on video.

Since we've gotten her, Cookie loves sitting on anything of Husband's. His clothes, his side of the bed, everything. (see her on his pillow)

Haircut Time

Today was another haircut for Cookie, and naturally she was mad about it. This is her, trying to get me to leave before we went in. 

And then when I picked her up, she SPRINTED to the front door and waited impatiently for me to let her in. 

She looks great, she just hates it so much, what a great dog.

Cookie just loves her new toy - she loves the squeak, and loves taking it away before we can take it from her hahah what a great doggo

Foiled by Taquitos

Tonight, we left our house for a while, just an hour or so, chatting with the neighbors. When we returned, we saw that the garbage can was knocked over. This happens literally all the time (Cookie is such a scavenger) so I didn't pay much attention. Then I turned to take a look at the dog, to reprimand her, and this is what I found:

Yep, this dingleberry got into the trash, got into a bag of frozen taquitos, and then got that stuck on her head. Luckily my phone was already out, so I quick snapped a pic from freeing her from her prison. 

She then ran to her cage and wouldn't leave it. I don't know if she was mad or embarrassed, but I couldn't stop laughing. She was all fine, nothing wrong, I legit think that Cookie just experiences embarrassment. I especially think this because if she farts, she will sprint out of the room so fast hahaha what a great dog I have.
