Betty Strikes Again

I have my cousin coming into town tomorrow, so I decided that some banana bread was just the ticket to welcome them to town. I spent all day making it (the Chrissy Tiegen recipe, of course) and it came out of the oven shortly before I went to bed. I covered it with a towel (didn't want to cover it in a container yet, since the heat would make the container sweat) and went to sleep.

Then this morning, I woke up and went out to get going on my day and saw this.

This freaking dog had gotten out of her cage and gotten up onto the table in the middle of the night and ate half of a loaf of the banana bread (which has chocolate chips, mind you).

What an absolute punk! Gaaaah!

Time for Horses

A few months ago, randomly, Avenue and I were like, we should go horseback riding. Don't know what prompted it but we were like, great. So we booked ourselves into the afternoon not realizing we did it for the same weekend as the LA 5K. No real worries here, but just a funny coincidence.

We arrived in the HEAT of the day. We had to wear long pants per the website of this place (and closed toed shoes, which I understand but ugh I hate it) so we were so hot and sweaty. We met our horses and hit the trail.

It was a fun ride, nothing too crazy happened. The only eventful thing was a girl seemed to be scared of her horse, she didn't take control of the animal and the horse was trying to run away maybe? I don't know - then they wouldn't let her ride her horse anymore and she had to be walked back down the mountain.

It was such a fun day - I want to do this again when it's not 1000 degrees outside.

We couldn't have our phones on us during the riding so no photos there, alas.

So much dang fun, I loved it.

LA 5K

Well, started what I think will be an annual race - the LA 5K. Avenue and I decided to do this a few months ago and finally made it to today. It is unfortunate that I do have this cold but otherwise, I'm here for the fun!

This was just so much fun! It was soooo windy so that was wild to deal with but we just had fun, it was mostly us walking but I don't even care. This was such an event - I wanna do it again next year for sure.

15 Years!

Y'all, can you believe, this year is my 15th wedding anniversary?! I can't believe how the time has flown!

Of course, being a weekday I unfortunately had to work, and I have a cold, which is also too bad, but we still had fun.

Hecking cuties.

We had some dinner at Disneyland - we went to Hearthstone Restaurant, where we ended up with a piece of chocolate as big as our heads.
Look at that adorable Mickey of whipped cream.

And then of course, gotta drizzle the chocolate on it.

This is as far as we got on it before I had to admit defeat - and this honestly made our stomachs hurt - why didn't I stop earlier?!

Lego Times

All right, I did two Spring sets - a fabulous spring wreath and then new sunflowers dropped.

So dang cute! Definitely gonna have this up for a while.

And of course I added the sunflowers to my shelves.

A Day of Shenanigans

Sometimes, you just gotta take a day off and live your best life. We headed over to Downtown Disney to have a nice morning. We went to a new place (We're trying to hit every food place downtown) and had brunch. I got a French toast and it was EXTRA in the best way possible.

It was absolutely so delicious

Then, after hanging out there for a bit, we headed home for some chilling. I finished up my Lego set that I had been working on recently, this Mario piece. I love it haha. His head attaching to his body was by far the hardest part, it just would not attach! So he's a bit wonky but honestly, I did my best there.

Epifanio Pics

I never have stories about the fellas anymore obviously not living near them but every time I get pics, it makes me so happy.

The way he just folds into himself to watch stuff just makes me giggle its so cute.

Jack-Jack Num-Nums

At Disneyland, near the Incredicoaster, there is a little booth that sells the most delicious cookies, the Jack-Jack Num-Nums. I love them.

A few years ago, I got a copy of the Disneyland parks cookbook and it has a recipe in here for these cookies.

I had a craving tonight and instead of heading over and getting one, I decided to do a batch of my own.

I got them made and put into my specially bought containers:

And of course, when they baked, they overflowed a little. But honestly, super delicious, I love them so much.

Be Like Emily

Recently, a Facebook post was brought to my attention about my mom and I love it so much, I want to put it here to have it forever.

She was the most amazing woman.

Tree Down!

It has been so windy and stormy lately! My family is in town this week for Disney shenanigans and these poor people have been rained on at Disneyland every day haha these poor guys. This morning when I went out for my usual run, I noticed our tree had taken a leave of absence.

Such a big piece to come off!

A Plethora of Lego

Eh I'll just throw into here a bunch of random Lego sets I've done lately.

So many cute sets, I love when I just get to do a bunch of tiny sets like this.

Water Pie

This month, for book club dessert club, we chose Water Pie. Making desserts we have never heard of is a real fun time haha. This is apparently a Depression-era pie that people used with nearly no ingredients.

Here is the recipe, in case anyone else wants it:

Water Pie

So here's the pie, before baking, but after putting the ingredients in the shell

And I will admit it looks INSANE, and even making it I was like, what the heck is this?

And then, once it was baked, it actually looked pretty good! And... its delicious! It doesn't really have a flavor, per se, but its just a sweet pie. I would totally recommend this.

Baby Yoda (still will not call him by his real name)

Okay it does seem like all I do on here is Lego lately but its really because I don't really leave my house that often lol. Work is just from my own house, I don't really know anyone here (yes after all these years) so I don't really have any outdoor adventures. Lego is always a good time.

Lego Flowers

There are so many Lego flower sets and I've got them all now, how fun. After finally finishing them all, I put all of them in one location. First, the last few sets to do:

And now it took some time to get everyone situated:

But I love it!

Happy Birthday, Betty!

 It's Betty's third birthday today!

By all logic, this means she's finally a 21 year old young lady (1 human years = 7 dog years, so 21)

She of course had to celebrate.

My Old Fellas

Apparently, a thing that happens in elementary schools now is kids celebrate the 100th day of school by dressing as 100 year old people, and the fellas did this today.

Ugh these freaking cuties, I love this.

Even More Organizing/Rearranging

I thought I would keep the reorganization of the house still going this weekend, I get such a great high from all of the organizing.

I recently bought some more shelves for my bookshelves, because there is so much lost space on the tiny Lego sets, they don't even fill the height of the shelf at all. And I've got a whole bookcase of books that are short and could use more shelves.

Added in 3 new shelves to this top case.

And two more shelves to this case.

It looks so good. And you can see this picture was taken before my last bit of organizing, because I then organized my Loungefly backpacks.

Ah, so lovely.
