All right, last small set, took me a day or so.
The perfect addition to the Star Wars shelf!
Ugh, look how dang cute this one is. (yes I know I could have put these all into one post, I don't care)
The inside being a tiny TV and a game system? Come on so cute!
When I'm done with a big ole set that takes a bit, I like to just blitz through a bunch of small sets, to catch up a little.
I've been working on this set for a few weeks now, and finally done! The castle that is the basis for Sleeping Beauty's castle, I've done it.
I got a photo from my sister today, telling me she was decorating for Halloween.
I had a Lego night with my friend tonight, and I finished my whole set in one night, I love the littler sets for that very reason.
I headed home today, and as I went upstairs to wake the fellas to say goodbye, these jokers had all fallen asleep in one bed haha.
This has been such a busy weekend! I've actually had to work from here for most of it, so that's unfortunate, but we're still having a fun time.
I headed to Utah for this weekend, going to have a quick jaunt of fun with everyone. I got in this afternoon and headed straight for the fellas of course.
For this month's baking club, we are taking on the icebox cake. I had heard about it on a podcast, and the guest was like, its 3 ingredients - grape jelly, Ritz crackers, and whipped topping. You combine the grape jelly and cool whip (melt the jam first to make it smoother) and then you layer the grape mix with 39 Ritz crackers, in like... 7 layers.
And then you refrigerate it overnight.
Can't believe we've come around to it again, but it is my birthday, and its time to celebrate. For my day, I chose to go to a breakfast spot over in Irvine, where I ended up bumping into a celebrity, which was real fun. Of course I'm not weird enough to get a picture or anything but it was fun to see him in real life. Then, I learned how to cross stitch (no pic yet because I'm still working on it) and then we went on a haunted house tour. There's a place in San Diego, the Whaley House, and I wanted to tour it.
Did I have to order in more display ribbons for my Disney ear obsession? You betcha!
I put some in the bathroom and another string of them on a different wall, keeping everything in their themes, of course.
Do I have too many?
Eh, probably.
I'm fully aware that most of the time when I leave my house, it's to go to Disneyland.
I'm okay with that.
I went today with Husband and Avenue, we scored a last minute reservation to Blue Bayou, so we made a morning of the day. Of course we had to snap pics in Blue Bayou, it was Avenue's first time!
Oh my gooooodness guys, its the start of a new school year and this year, Epifanio is starting all day school, being in first grade. We got the obligatory front door pics:
They have these new Lego sets that are called "Book Nook" Lego sets, and they're a famous book series, looking like a book, with a tiny scene inside. Today's set was a Sherlock Holmes one.
Tomorrow is the birthday of my new(ish, not really new anymore) friend in Cali, Avenue. We chose to hit up Disney for the day.
Every time I finish a larger set, I do a few smaller sets, to at least feel like I'm making progress through my backlog. I did a few the last day or so:
I finally finished the Lego Atari tonight! I say finally because it felt like it took forever even though I really only worked on it for a week or so haha.
I love it so.
A friend and I have decided to form a baking club, and each month (we're already in a book club, the dates coincide) we will make a new dessert and then try it whilst we have our book club. This month, we chose Victoria sponge cake.
It wasn't too hard at all! I homemade the jam, ordered a fancy English sugar from Amazon, I was ready. I then made the cake, got it all cooled down and ready to frost, and started to finish the last step of putting the buttercream between the layers of the cake. As I was finishing up, my frosting bag blew, the tip flew out, and my hand punched into the cake. It resulted in mayhem.
Its been a minute since I've done photos of Betty, so here we go.
Absolutely obsessed with this weirdo.
The funny thing about Disneyland and living near it is that when people come to town, this is one of the things they want to do the most. So we usually end up taking people there for the day, letting them decide what they want to do, what they want to see, because we can see it all whenever. We went with Husband's friend and had a great day, full of fun.
Turns out, I only had the ride pics on my phone, and the ones of us during the day were on her phone, but that's fine. That evening, I met up with Avenue, we were going to see a movie on the lawn of the Disneyland hotel. We went over there and the vibes were meh, so we hopped back into the park for dinner and a treat. Then, we headed home, it was getting late and we were spent.
